I like the idea of them going more into the lore and legend, plus how Freddy dies. I'm actually glad Englund isn't in it, although it would be nice to at least see a cameo. A fresh perspective worked for Friday the 13th IMO.
Agree on all points. Seeing how the monster came to be should be interesting, although the trailer seems to suggest they're not going to be spending very much time on that. Betcha Englund does have a cameo in there somewhere.

No Englund, theyu're not getting myu money. It's like remaking Evil Dead or Hellraiser with another guy.
Seriuosly this remakes of classics with nothing new except cgi and more visual fx has go to stop. None of them are scary and most of them just stupid.

used to love that kinda stuff. . .as i've gotten older, i've found that real life is scary enough. . .don't need it in my "entertainment" too.

i dunno, i would have "hope" for these remakes, but they always lack the original dark comedy and try to make everything super serious. they end up ruining all the classics.. tcm, dawn of the dead, the list goes on.

i dont care if thats what a real burn victim would look like, its not as badass some of the older looks.

i think they abandoned the central elements that made those movies genius.
i walked out on tcm and couldnt manage to watch more than the dod remake trailer.. i was gutted

I agree freddy looks jacked up. It looks like it will be ok though.
I actually really liked the TCM remake and the prequill.
I also loved the Halloween Remake and the Friday 13th remake.
If anything I think the new Elm street will be weak in comparison to those remakes.

Nightmare on Elm St was never scary. Freddy was well acted by Englund but the character was just too obnoxious and over the top to take seriously. Now he has a chance to be at least.

Yes. I noticed that.
Noooo. Forget all the sequels.
Remember Freddie only as he was in the very first one. Said very little, no dumbass puns and wisecracking, face was almost always partially in shadow. In the first one he really was a nightmarish figure.

thats his charm.. without comedy the movie is doo-doo.
just like leatherface is secretly the hero of tcm, and the remake totally went against that.
