i'm not going to UF anymore.

poppa dukes is struggling (he says...i mean, he kinda is with this economy and he had to lend my sister 60k. but struggling for him is relative) so he won't pay for me to move and live in gainesville.

so..im gonna go to school in miami for a bit. maybe transfer to UF later on depending on whats going on with my life

my sister's husband was a big name in the mortgage business....and then he started his own bank last year. basically still trying to get it going and they had to scale back their lifestyle big time. if it succeeds, they're set forever...if it doesn't, i dunno. they used to spend 2-3 million dollars a year. House in the hamptons, Townhouse in Manhattan..a ferrari, AMG mercedes you name it. but when they did still had all these liabilities. so basically my sister had to charge everything for a while and racked up 60k on her black amex. her credit was always awesome and finally she broke down and asked my dad for the money. my dad lent it to her (reluctantly) because she never asks for anything

This economy has pretty much hit everyone close to me very hard.

couple of years ago everyone in my family(including myself) had ridiculous amounts of money. now everyone is really watching all their expenses

The way things are now have opened a lot of peoples eyes for sure. We used to spend money like it was nothing, but we are much more careful with it now. You just never know how hard it will get and you have to play it smart.
