Can someone tell me what it's like?

I remember when my mom went through it she was constantly getting sick and throwing up. What can I expect from this?

I think they have some pretty serious drugs to take the "getting pukey" side effects away now a days.

Good luck, Clock.

anyone ever go through this? or their S/O go through this?

My mom is doing it right now.. and no real issues with sickness, they make it up after the blood work is done the same day, the dosing is made just for you on that day..

Good luck and our prayers and wishes are with you and your family..

My grandmother just finished chemo last year and I believe vixen is right, I don't recall her ever feeling very pukey. She did lose all of her hair though and had to get a wig, I would get an AFRO one if I was you :fro:. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Good Luck bro..... I have no idea what the sideeffects are but I know they vary based on how intense the teraphy is etc.

Zophran is the new miracle anti-nausia drug... I use it before i look in the mirror.

I can not talk about it because I did not go through it but wanted to wish you good luck and stay in good spirts! I am sure you will get through it and be fine in the long run!

Doesn't it depend on the type of chemo you're doing? And I assume each person's body is different.

My only exposure to it was when my best friend got Leukemia when he was 16yo. The chemo was pretty bad, I ain't gonna lie. He was sick a lot, bed ridden most of the time. His weight would fluctuate something amazing. One day he would look very bloated, chipmunky type face. 2 days later he would be skinny.

This was also 10 years ago, so I'm sure much has changed.

It ain't gonna be fun bro, but you'll get through it just fine. Keep your mind strong, man. I'll be sending ya good energy / pr0n mags.

lol! You must've read his thread about being called a "n*gger".

Clock, I had a friend go thru chemo from colon cancer. He lost weight, felt weak and tired often, felt nauseous. He didn't lose much hair at all though.

When my friend's mother was going through chemo, he mentioned that the costs of the anti-nausea drugs was friggin' outrageuos. Like, hundreds a day. And she was fully insured, too.

Clock, chemo is basically using high-energy radiation to kill cells in your body. They target the area where there's mutated cancerous cell growth in hopes of killing them off. Side effects are, of course, killing good cells in the process. The effects one experiences undoubtedly relies heavily on intensity and locations, so I can't give any specific input there.

I know they used to use injectable radioactive drugs, but I don't think they do that any more.

:cow:

They have great drugs now to ward off the nausea. Everyone responds differently.
Two people I know are doing chemo now and they both never got that sick. Of course you'll herx (toxic reaction) but prob won't be vomiting all over.

I start my treatment soon as well; mine will make me puke all over and feel like ASS.
You and I will make some fun thread then ok :-)

I don't have any experience with it because my family members that got cancer found out too late. Stay strong sucka and please mail me your hair so I can make myself a nutsack wig.

Chemo is better now than it used to be (not as much trowing up and such). My mom actually felt BETTER after her chemo sessions. Weed helps LOTS with the appetite and nausea.

God bless. I wish you a quick and full recovery.
