im a big fan of freedom of speech, and freedom of expression. But i would like to ask if everyone can please be a little a more descrete about what they choose to put as thier Avatars.

Im at work where a lot of the thong/ nude/ photos arent allowd. Also i dont really want to see them. If i did, i would visit the Women's picture's section or go to a porno board. but i come here for training to discuss training topics.

i would really appreciate it if you would do me this favor. i really like everyone and im not trying to piss anyone off, just can we keep this board for training only.

lol....... good point. but no, i work customer service. when the phone is not ringing i dont have anything to do. but its not just that. i dont wanna see that stuff. just my personal opinion. i know that elite has its own section for that, and im just asking that it stays there.

I doubt you'll "reach out" to everyone, so you can do what I did when I was actually working:

Disable pictures. :)

vance, most people i work with find a rear lat spread very offensive, so be careful;) hahahahahahahaha, hope to see u soon bro. i get worried bout people i work with seeing thongs too, but i just don't worry bout it;)

In Internet Explorer ...

Tools->Internet Options

Click on "Advanced Tab"


Under "Multimedia" header, make sure "Show Pictures" isn't checked.

well........ok, but then i couldnt see any pictures..... and i like watching the videos and pictures people post....... i just dont wanna see some T-n-A if i dont have too.

You will, still, be able to right click on the picture outline and click on "show picture."

This would allow you to view selected pictures.

well........... no harm in asking....... the people who have the avatars up dont always have nudity........... but i just notice a large gathering of them now.

You can actually shut off JUST avatars in your profile options.

Exodus, I mean honestly offensive seems to vary from person to person. I for example have had 6 guys tell me to take my avatar down because it was offensive (in chat & conversation of all places!). One even said everyone at his job thought he was looking a gay website when he was reading elite at work when he was reading a post of mine. However, I'm showing less than a thong would, and I've gotten a fair number of compliments from ladies on the board. And the greater majority on here wouldn't say its offensive.
 
Hey Ex, I have the same issue! I got a "privacy screen" for my PC at work. My screen is only viewable from directly in front. It hurts their eyes when they try to look at my screen...;)
 
BTW, Exodus, normally I don't care too much about grammar, spelling, etc in others' posts in forums, but your sig kills me every time I read it. Take the extra E out of Member :)
 
I turn off avatars, images, and sigs when I'm at work, just in case. You never know what someone's gonna pick. They're better here than over at steroidology tho. Whoo.

Just curious Exodus but are the avatars really a big deal when you put it next to the fact that you are reading a bodybuilding board at work, whos majority content deals with information on the aquizition & administering of drugs that are illegal w/o a Script, and seen by 90% of the population as being drugs that will kill you, just like Heroin or Coke? I mean, when you consider how the people who might bust your balls over the avatars seen here would probably(wrong as they might be) feel about the drug content therein, it really is a small thing dontcha think?

I understand how you feel though. I stop at the Library at school sometimes if noone is there to read the sites. I always feel unconfortable though, as they have library nazi-ettes walking(patrolling) around to make sure people arent, I don't know, masturbating or something to the wrong sites. I just scroll through real fast until I get to a nice place on the screen where there isn't any T&A, or mentions of Anabolic Steroids, or associated BB drugs.

Yep, superdave, highintesity and a few others I can't remember off hand have complained. LoL They definately need to chill out.

great post exodus.... I have to admit some of the avatars are getting way out of hand. We just need to be respectful of all the members on this board..We are mainly here to help one another out...not to post offensive pics.... Thanks meathead57 for having that respect!
