Awww. When I was in high school, I snuck to the park with my friends to listen to DEAD HOUR(a music radio program) while sitting in the trees. I also made a ton of my own clothes.
Now, I toss drunks onto their heads from the back of my ambulance. If I'm on the highway, I'm sure to have the emt slow down, first, because I care.
It's strange how people change. I kinda feel guilty for allowing myself to become so jaded. Do you think she feels guilty?

Her mother is an attorney that works for the NAACP and ABLE and her father a Poli Sci professor....they gave her shit for being materialistic....We were both happier when we were poor and just living together as college students....

My dad is an attorney. He was a labor lawyer for about 20 years and then he crossed over to being a corporate attorney(the dark side, lol. It was always funny as a teenager. He would tell me not to smoke and then spend his entire work week in a different state representing a cigarette company.
My hubby always wants bigger and better. He wishes we were rich. I have been on that side and like things MUCH better the way we are. His parents were not rich but his dad always made it to his birthday parties. My dad didn't. He would just tell my mom to buy me what I wanted and he would call me on my birthday to appologize for being out of town....again and again. That shit matters. I'd rather keep things the way they are.

i usually agree with you and i always respect your opinion but i have been poor and i have been rich and rich is infinitely better. lol. assuming your internal world is in check.

You appreciate the little things when you're poor, you take them for granted when you have money and focus on all the wrong things IMO. In the army, a good nights sleep in a bed was the best feeling ever....

I think everyone wants what they have not had. I have had both. I think some rich people can be happy as long as they can still focus on the people and things that really matter. That's where there's usually a problem....
