The other one is very more tiny. I think they start at like $2000 each.

I am not sure why yours cost $10,000.

Also, if you have health insurance they (sometimes) will pay a small percentage. Not much, but every little bit counts.

can I ask how you lost hearing?

I dated a gal who had birth trauma that lead to some hearing loss, she wore hearing aids in both ears but could get by (barely) without them.

No, I don't work in the area. Though have enough first hand knowledge of it from the past years.

Actually $1000 is a lot to go towards hearing aids. 90% of insurance companies won't pay anything because they will say that you fall under the Pre-Existing Condition clause of their guidelines if it is heriditary.

Still $10,000 is a lot to pay. Not sure why Spartacus paid so much for his either. Hopefully he got a penis extension with it.

Ask your audiologist about the Phonak Micro and the other one. I will get the name of it when I get home. When you do ask them, watch their face light up and they just SMILE so big. I know they will do this because I am sure that they have been riding your ass for a while to try out the behind ear brands because... (say it with me).. "the CIC style has very limited output and even when maxed out you are not getting the power you need. You need more power and the CIC can't produce it due to the small size."

gotmilk and puddle...you'd understand if you knew what it was like. The first day I wore my hearing aids, I cried. Seriously, I cried, and HARD. I couldn't believe how much I'd been missing. Plus, the big clunky ones are a lot cheaper, but no way in hell was I going to do that.
