$1000!!!!!


Weird chain of events. I got locked out of my apartment (owned by my school) yesterday, so I had to go get an alternate key from the office down the street. So tonight I'm returning the key, and there's a 7-11 next to the office...so I decide to go get something to eat, since my car broke down the other day and I haven't been able to go shopping. So I get a chicken sandwich, and I have ten extra dollars left so I decided to buy one of the new $10 scratch tickets. And BAM!!!! $1000!

I must say I'm pumped up right now! I'm sure my sources will be happy about that as well ;)
 
dude, fix your car before you by gear, how
are you ever going to live beyond paycheck to
paycheck if you don't even have a working car ?

I have two, both clear titles, 1 a Jeep Cherokee
and my new one, a '02 sedan, and I can buy juice
or anything else want on any given day. You should
consider other things besides gear all the time, I like
it to, but maybe buying a house could follow fixing
a car, that is once you graduate ;)

LOL...I'm not really gonna spend it all on gear bro...I'm just joking. I have money for the car and all the rest...but an extra $1000 never hurts...just frees up some loot for the fun stuff.:)
 
well, as a former student, I agree with you, it's exciting to come into money,
but try to save it, or maybe spend only half and save the rest for when you really need it. there is nothing more gradifying to know you have money if you need it.

I plan on it. I'm gonna make a few investment moves with it, then it's going straight in the bank. I'm very smart with my money...probably why i always have so damn much of it! :arty:

LOL! I've been on fire lately. I usually just buy a few when i go to the store and have some left over cash. Starting a month ago, I won $115 one day...then like 3 days later I won $50. Then I won $100 twice since then. Then I took some time off from buying them cuz I've been kinda squeezed for cash...since some people owe me money and aren't paying up. Then I lost $40 one day. But one of the guys that owed me money paid up last night...so i had some extra cash on hand today...and wham...another winner. :qt:

Oh...and I don't condone wasting your money on scratch tickets...I just do it when i have extra cash...like on payday or something.

Besides...Mass has good scratch ticket payouts...don't know about other states.

But the house doesn't have as much fun as I do! ;) Seriously bro...I couldn't care less about money. It's cool to have some extra and all...but money doesn't concern me as much as it does other people. The way I see it, I'm never gonna get to a point in my life where I'm gonna be out of money and not be able to get food or anything...so I spend whatever I need to spend to have fun.

I remember the last cool thing I spent money on was this kid down at fenway selling candy for his school. He was selling M & M's or something for $1...and I gave him $100 bill. Shoulda seen the look on the kid's face...it was priceless. And the face on his mother when he ran over and told her was even funnier!

So basically, moral of the story...fuck money. Just have a good time! :arty: :elephant: :dance2: :lil k: :garza: :jump: :arty:

Yeah...this damn car is pissing me off! The same thing that happened last time, happened again. So I took it back to the guy that fixed it last time...and he's trying to say it's different! He's fucking lying, I know it...he knows it...I just can't prove it. But he says he'll "work with me" this time, and it won't cost as much. This fucker is lying, and he feels bad about it...so he's gonna charge me less. Those damn mechanics... :)

Actually...what you said was that glycerol (which is more like a carbohydrate than a fat) is converted into glucose..the actual discussion was about fat (aka free fatty acids). Fat produces ATP via beta-oxidation (and the electron transport chain), so you should be paying me.

The net result of lipolysis (burning fat) is three moles of free fatty acid and one mole of glycerol. The liver actively converts two molecules of glycerol (two three carbon molecules) into one molecule of glucose (one six carbon molecule) and releases that glucose to the blood for use by other tissues. There's your conversion process.

So, basically the free fatty acids diffuse from adipose cells, combine with albumin in the blood, and are thereby transported to other tissues, where they passively diffuse into cells. Triglycerides don't always oxidize so what you're saying is a half truth. Actually only 10% of the fat converts to glucose the rest are ketones.

Not always. Some are mobilized which breaksdown triglycerides into glycerol and FFA's for energy. AS I KEEP SAYING,"Just because a triglyceride is mobilized does NOT mean that it will be oxidized."
