got home and what do I eat? a protein shake w/added BCAA's and an ice cream drumstick. Oh well, I got four chicken breasts ready to be marinated for the grill.

Nice job, maing. I sold my mt bike last year, starting to regret it. Were you road biking or mt biking?

I'm a road snob. I could have done another 25-30. I still felt great. I think I'll do 40 tomorrow then maybe hit the gym for some upper body work...been a while for that.

Noice. My wife went out yesterday. The hills she goes up and down are sick. She makes me feel like a natural woman sometimes.

damn dt. good work!

Dam in how long? I normally do about a 50 km ride when I go.
Holy crap. How long does that take you? I do about 18 km/hr, but that is a mix of city streets & bike paths.

The last two miles to my house is either 2 miles at a 12% grade or 3 miles at an 8% grade depending which way you return. I stil can't make it up w/o stopping. I figure I need to be around 215-220 to make that haul nonstop.

Anywhere from 1 1/2 - 2 hours depends on the wind etc.

If DT is able to do 45miles in 2 hours I'll give him mad props. If he can do it in a hour and a half then Lance has a new teammate.

I doubt there's anybody on Elite that can do 45 miles in 2 hours even if the route is pancake flat. I could probably do sub 2:30 if I were riding more but now it's about 2:45. 75% of my route is right on the ocean with a strong sidewind and it ends by going about 2/3 of the way up this hill so even an 18mph avg (which I don't do) is hauling serious ass.

I've worked in a bike shop for three years and my boss does 50 mile rides in the mornings and he averages 20-22mph. It's pretty impressive. He's a serious biker though. He does cat3 races now a days because he's in his late 40s but he used to do cat2 races all the time.

congrats, nice to hear another avid cyclist on EF. My favorite form of motion. I can get to most places faster than if I was driving a car.
45 miles, just dont make yourself impotent. Adjust your seat properly is my only advice

Fucker... you are taunting me. :)

I'm slacking this week. Kids have been sick and wife is getting close to competition. I've had a tough one slicing out the free time to get my rides in.

Very nice DT!!

Thinking of getting a couple of bikes + accessories to begin riding once I'm allowed.....

I'm guzzling water to go out again in a bit. If you makes you feel any better I didn't ride at all during the week, too busy with work. I did hit the gym on Wednesday for legs.

I'm struggling as I try to find a way to do squats, deads, run and bike. That's a bitch of a mix. Any ideas?

I can't find a good way to work in three runs. I'm looking at:

Mon - off
Tues - short bike
wed - legs, abs, stationary bike
thurs - stationary bike then treadmill run
fri - off
sat - long bike
sun - long bike or short bike and run

I think I have run 1-2 times in the last month. If I was truly motivated I'd do it in the AM sun/tue/thurs but I'm not so I don't. Now I want to start doing an upper body workout - no clue where that's gonna go.

have you tried the Redondo to Venice boardwalk ride? Been meaning to ride that for a while but I always get lazy and never plan it out.

That's the ride. From PV down Catalina along the beach thru Redondo, get on the boardwalk in Hermosa, all the way to the channel in Marina Del Ray?, turn right past the UCLA crew HQ and ride the bike path along the storm drain thingy until I hit the 22.5 mile point then I turn around. It goes further so I'll eventually stretch it out to a 60 miler.

No shit :)

I can do an easy 16.5 mph for 50 miles.

If I bump it up to 18 mph, I'm feeling pain after 20 miles.

Normal ride 25 miles minimum. Centuries kill me. REward after a long ride.......... BEER ! Gotta get out on my Trek and do some mile this summer. Was down last year and the legs know it. Should get back to doing a Century a year type shape.

Friend is riding from Buffalo to Hartford this week. Nut job does his own centuries in the mountains of Vermont and Mass. He also rides to and from work, about 35 miles one way. It is a bug within you if you continue.
