As well as lifting your spirits and being your companion, friends will also hurt you and let you down... I have the same friends that I've had since youth... I know they'll let me down still, but they'll be there for me in times of need.

oh wow. my friends and I always loved making fun of people ( to each other only of course, not mean to people's faces)
we'd people watch and then just bust out laughing at the geighest shit about people and make snide remarks about them just for pure entertainment.
I miss being young and carefree.

Nowadays I think I'd feel bad for making fun of someone. The thought actually never crosses my mind. Ultilmately, if i see someone who is clearly pathetic, I think, well that's someone's son/daughter and then perhaps my heart goes out to them. Even though Im the same person I just have different values/morals than I did as a young college student.
