My position is pretty entry-level, and there isn't much room for growth right now in this department. The interview was last Wednesday, still waiting to hear. I know the last person had their interview sometime today... I hate waiting.

well good luck.
i'm starting a new job on monday, after interviewing at 4 different companies. 1 interview each at two places
2 interviews at another place
3 interviews at the job I got.
I was so tired of talking about myself and i thought that could NEVER happen!

What's your tip?
They haven't called me back for a second yet but haven't made a decision. I don't know if there will even be a second interview considering I already work there and know some of the people that were present for my second interview for this position (HR, CEO, etc)

well, my mother owned an executive search firm for like, 20 years and my husband is a manager for a company and does a lot of hiring.
both of them told me that when they interview people, personality is VERY important. sometimes more important than experience.
When I went on the three interviews for the job I got, i had mentioned that I'm a very cheerful, upbeat person (true). they told me that they gave me big points for that, because being easy to work with isn't something that can be taught, but other things are. They said they could see that i'd be a good manager and get along with other managers and that the other candidate had more experience but they LIKED me better.
so... my advice is that at some point during your interview, mention that you are a very happy person, although not chatty or gossipy.
if i was a manager, i'd want to hire that too.
