I HATE squat pads

Damn, I guess I have egg on my face. From Louie Simmons on 'What a Gym Needs'

For squatting and deadlifting, again weight releasers, chains, and bands should be used extensively on max effort day and speed day. An assortment of boxes to squat off of is vital. Also, a Manta Ray, a Safety Squat Bar, and for most powerlifters, a front squat harness are needed to change body leverage artificially.
 
There is a place for manta rays, and safety squat bars and etc etc.
Look at the westside boys to get an idea, things like that are used to stop you getting too used to it.
I agree maxipads are pathetic, terrible pieces of shit that offer nothing but confidence ;)

Still anyone who uses these to bash out quarter squats with WAY more than he should be using deserves the ol' water torture.
