If she had given you the bill at the time you had your dog put down you probably wouldn't be so upset. What's going on is receiving the bill one month later is sort of opening up the scab on an emotional wound for you.
But you should remember, it's probably nothing personal. Many businesses bill on a monthly basis.
Just like all other fields, there are good vets and bad vets. Some of the best end up washing out of the field because the pet owners are miserable to deal with. It's easier to be a human doctor, honestly. Your patient's tell you what's wrong and, interestingly enough, people rarely squawk about paying an exorbitant doctor's bill, even if the result is a dead patient.
this...
I had my shepherd put down a cpl months ago and I paid up front...it made it so I had no reason to go back there ever again and could just walk out and not look back
vet was really compassionate about it tho....put him down under a beautiful old maple tree outside so he (dasty) didn't have to go inside the clinic. Then covered him up kind of ceremoniously when it was done with a blanket from the clothes line near by.
my husband and ex husband were there..it was kind of surreal
anyway, what was said...people have to make money....and thats just a small part of their business but it still costs them money to do and do correctly and humanely.
if you car blows up and you have to have it towed...you generally still have to pay the tow ya know?
