I had a panic attack in the gym today

I was waiting between sets of DB bench and I felt my heart beating really hard. After a few seconds it hadn't slowed down and I was like "Fuck, what if there is something wrong with my heart?" I was also seeing spots from benching hard and looking into the lights but I was thinking "Maybe it's lack of oxygen to my brain due to my heart problem?"

Then I walked to the water fountain, got a drink, sucked it up, and finished my workout.

I used to get panic attacks when I was a pothead 15 years ago.

Weed made damn paranoid. That's probably why I quit. I can relate to what your going through, though I never got panic attacks quite that serious.

I've almost keeled over in the gym numerous times. It was due to the multiple thermogenics I used to get my ass off the couch, and into the gym.One time my heart was beating soooooooo fast while just sitting at a bench,I did'nt dare get up for at least 10 minutes in fear that my heart would just straight explode. It fucking sucked big time.

What makes you think it was a panic attack?

Did you use any stimulants such as Ephedrine before your workout? If you did that's probably what caused it and I wouldn't worry about it. But stop taking it.

I drank a 16-oz Diet Coke like 2 or 2 1/2 hours before I worked out. I don't fuck with stimulants, I am stressed out enough as it is. I should be eschewing even caffeine but lately I haven't been sleeping well so I've been pretty tired.

Anyways nvr2big HA HA very funny.

naw it wasn't palpitating. just beating hard and fast. like how you feel after a 15-rep set of DB bench to almost failure. I just overblew it in my mind. It was the lights that did it.

Panic attacks suck. I used to get them now and again.

I keep xanax around. It works wonders. Glad I do not need it very often.

Not a panic attack. Maybe an adrenaline rush, can make the heart do what your saying. Panic attacks are a cognitive experience. You feel impending threat, doom, that your going to or about to die. Way more intense and you wouldnt have been able to continue working out. After it passed you'd be wiped out.

"Maybe it's lack of oxygen to my brain due to my heart problem?"

Are you serious about the heart problem?? Then why the h*** are you overtraining yourself!!! lol :D Seriously, take care of yourself!!

No I don't really have a serious heart problem that I know of, I was imagining that maybe I DID have a serious problem and my thoughts were taking off from there.
