Good point. Our police officers cant just be sitting around browing the interwebs at the po po station while real issues like this are happening everyday in our society.

Seems like a waste of tax money and a terrible waste of resources...why don't they allocate them where they are really needed? If it's slow there, why don't they allocate less units to that area and move extra units to other areas that are short on squad cars...wouldn't that decrease crime rate (realistically) in other areas? Isn't that the whole point?
I was pulled over in Carlsbad, CA one day while making a beer run during work hours and about 8 patrol cars came as back-up. I asked the lead officer if he brought enough friends and he justified it by Saying Carlsbad has virtually no crime rate due to the large officer presence.
