to lose 15lbs by the end of august and add 10 lbs of muscle, naturally. im gonna attempt this, and nothing like a little healthy competition. im gonna start on this journey today, if anyone wants to join me, im game.

my arsenal:

whey protein, vanilla
food
lifting weights
animal paks
water
sleep
running
skipping ropes

im trying to lose about 10 pounds. or some inches, w/e comes first..

im new to cardio and 'trying' to lose fat.

10 pounds of muscle? impossible in 2 months. no mucle will respond in that little amount of time. but i could be wrong

at least thats what ive read.

well thats just the threshold i set myself to. i know its pretty damn hard if not impossible, but since i set it so high i gotta do all i can to get as close as i can to it- extra motivation, if you will.

I think it just depends on who you are and what you are doing to put on that much muscle. I'm up for the challenge ;) My goal was to hit 230lbs by late August. Started out Right at 200lbs in the beginning of May and up to 212lbs now, although the first 6-7lbs of weight were pounds I "put back on" from about a month or so previous.

hi, this is my first post.

I'm up for this challenge... It was my goal before i saw it.

Yet, i just started back with the gym, and i'm really behind with alot of stuff, and i've been reading here for some ideas. Right now i'm at 196 lbs 5'10... Only one week for working out so far. I'm probablly like well over 20% body fat, i got a beer gut.

My plan is to be thin, and strong by august. So far, i've been working out everything but legs, only because i'm jogging nearly 30-60 minutes a day on the tread mill.

That's probablly wrong, but i guess it's doing something good, i'm starting to burn some fat off.

I'm pretty poor and hardlly afforded the gym, so supplements
are out for me. I'm just dieting, and hitting the gym hard everyday doing everything i can.

If i could be around 190 and lean i'd be very happy : ]

Well, although I think those numbers are impossible for me, I will share my goals
Bench: 300
Squat: 400
Deadlifr: 450

All by day 1 of school which should be august 15ish. I don't know my maxes on squats or dls but I do know my bench. I put up 270 about 4 weeks ago. I have been doing 5X5 since then with noticable strength gains already. I failed on 315 at that time too, but it was do to improper form and not being warmed up enough. I know I'll come close if not make those marks.

I'm in, at least for the fat loss. I will want to maintain for a few months before going on to bulk. That will put me at 235/12.5%

I'm trying to get to 9%/220ish by my birthday in Sept.

Good luck everyone!!!!

I don't know about losing the 15 lbs, but I would be up for the challenge of putting on that kind of muscle. Unless of course it has to be natural, then that just sounds impossible, definitely impossible to add that much muscle and lose that much fat in that period of time unless you have freak genetics. If you are interested in that, let me know.

Its on yarg... slat1 suggested making a thread with our starting stats and everyone posting every 2 weeks for updates. We could all give support/motivate eachother. I'm 182lbs 11%bf right now... end of August hoping to be 190lbs 7-8%.... itll be tough

doesn't sound possible to put on that much pure muscle WHILE losing fat. maybe a better challenge would be to drop a certain percentage of bodyfat?

Sry i gotta start it at july 1st, and go to september 1st, cuz my friends and i wanna party it up first lol, then renew our gym memberships. ill just challange anyone here to see who can lose the most weight and/or put on the most amount of muscle in that time naturally or with steroids- but if you use extra help, please list it as such. whoever wins gets my eternal respect and gratitude for the competition and motivational source.

PM me as well when it begins, I'm only in for the muscle gain part of the challenge though. It seems more realilistic to bulk up and then cut. From a scientific stand point, it isn't possible to gain muscle(of that amount) while cutting up at the same time. You can only be in an anabolic or catabolic at any given time, so to perform this you have to constantly switch your body back and forth but only remain in a catabolic state long enough to burn some fat and begin a stage of anabolism again before your body begins eating at your muscle. If you build, then cut, it is much easier to preserve your muscle while losing the fat, however I am not saying it can't be done. Some studies have "shown" that anabolic steroids really don't help create muscle yet I think everyone(especially on this site) knows better =).

Are you guys talking about natural ? Ive seen cycles where peole gain 30lbs w/ a little fat... Ive seen cycles where peole gain 20 pounds with no fat... Ive seen cycles where people gain 10 pounds and lose 5-6 pounds of fat... All in 10week periods...

With optimal training/sleep the only variation is diet and thats how you will determine your gains...

It originated being natural, but some are going to run a cycle.

I am perfectly situated to beat your challenge!

I'm 10 weeks into a 12 week layoff, I've lost 12lbs already and will be around 210lbs when I get back into the gym after my vacation. I WILL gain at least a pound a week for the next 20 weeks...

Hey Buddy!

My finals at Uni and starting up my own business have curtailed my training energy. This was compounded by the fact that I had tendonitis in both knees and my shoulder getting out of shape again (a re-occurance of my torn roator cuff in early 2002. It was a good time to take a long break!

I'm feeling great now, having had 10 weeks off. I've been swimming a few miles a week and visiting my sport therapist and osteopathic doctor (who is a legend!) and I'm ready to resume training when I get back from a tour of Europe in two weeks. My girlfriend still says I'm huge (210 feels very small to me) and random people still ask if I'm a football player or a bouncer, but I'll be much happier when I'm back up over 225.

Havn't been posting here much but I've been logging in briefly to see what's going on...

I'd call 15 & 5 doable but 15/10 sounds too ambitious natural. Good luck with it!

Yeah, I always grow back better after losing some. RIght now I´m 210 but my body has the support systems in place to carry 225lb. Dieting down and then massing up bigger then ever is something I learned from some British guys who ran Chemical Warfare - now Chemical Nutrition, Dorian´s company.
They call it "creating a vacume". Just bulk up huge so that your body is used to being heavier than before, fat is fine. Then cut up fast, and fill the void with lean muscle.

I´ve done some light stacks and had OK results but I think that I´ll be a natty from now on. Maybe when I´m in my 50´s I´ll use again to boost my failing hormone system. Last stack was over 6 months ago and the previous stack was a year before that. Tore my quad on the last cycle, and I prefer to do things that will benefit me in the long run...
