You have changed a lot and all for the good :)

I always have problems sleeping when I am dieting. I think I am going to see a Dr and get a script for something this terrible.

Have you used anything otc yet. I know of a good product that really works well. I wish I had some now. Is a product made by a old sponsor that used to be here. Real good shit.

Well stay away from sarquil or how ever its spelled. Big time groggy feeling in the morning. Whats the point of getting sleep if you feel like you have not gotten any. Also its known for weight gain to.

Girl i fell ya... i am awake from dusk till dawn. I find myself up cooking at 2am!!!!!!!!!!!!

If i get a full 2hr's sleep a night i am doing good. i've tried some sleeping pills but nothing works. I have done two sleep studies and nada... no resolve. I wish i could give you some good advice, but i don't even know what to do for myself.

Simply Sleep, ZMA and a bean flick.....O-U-T

OTC stuff is usually based on doxylamine or diphenhydramine. They're both just anti histamines which make you drowsy, there's no quality to your sleep you're just not awake.

Ambien works good for short term insomnia for a lotta folks... it didn't for me.

dont antihistamines actually prevent getting to the deep sleep stage (IV?) where GH is pulsed?

I used to suffer horrible insomnia, but I figured out a way to sleep and rarely get it anymore.
Insomnia is torture

smoke a little weed before bed, 100% natural, non-addictive, zero calories, you'll sleep like a baby and feel great in the morning

yep, and you dont get much REM either. They work to make you ''sleep'' but it's not really restorative sleep. Stage IV doesn't go by that name anymore, it's just called S3 or slow wave sleep. Before stages 3 and 4 were called slow wave sleep.

if my husband smokes up before bed, he's awake all night long. that shit keeps him up

also, I have totally crashed out in the middle of an IM convo with juicedhairguy

I feel bad for you insomniacs. I have the opposite problem. I have a hard time staying awake.

the hubby must be smoking some fine weed, good man

I sleep pretty well unless it's hot. I don't have AC so I toss and turn all night if it's over 75.

unfortunately the stuff the Dr will give you will do the same. they work wonders at first then a few weeks later your back to not sleeping and you have to switch to something new. then your like myway and cant take anything cause your body gets used to all of it and adjusts so they dont work anymore. i have bad insomnia but i rotate my meds. i even have to just suck it up for a week or 2 to let all the meds i take get out and let my body get back to normal. but remember everyones different so you may get lucky with the meds from the Dr but if your like most people here then your as screwed as we are.

this whole week :(

Last night I got a solid 7 hours....first time I've slept well during a six day stretch of insomnia. I get it often...and it sucks. The script sleep drugs either don't work for me or leave me with a nasty side effect, so that's not an option. The only thing that's ever worked well for me is Valium, and that's damn hard to get ahold of.

You doing low carbs superqt? I know I have a hell of a hard time sleeping when I drop my carbs low.

That's why you stack it with melatonin.

2 benadryl + 12 mg melatonin = lights out.

I can't sleep if I work or work out too close to bedtime (if I can't get my work out done before 8:00 p.m. it's better if I don't do it at all).

12mg?!?! I take ONE mg of melatonin and I'm groggy til mid-afternoon the next day. That's why I avoid it. It works, but I feel like crap the next day.

I've got a weird metabolism, all the shit that supposed to crash you out, Benadryl, melatonin, tryptophane, valerian, will actually make me wired or jittery.

Valerian root did that to me.

Yeah that is a big cause of it I don't take and clen etc after 3 p.m. so one would think 8-9 hours later when I try to sleep it wouldn't be an issue.

When taking clen, I HAVE to take a benadryl at night. Not only does it help me sleep, but it actually makes the clen work better by slowing your receptor down-regulation.
