I became one of THOSE moms today!

hhahha same here!

sometimes he will even preface his request with "ok mom, now if the answer is no then just say it, dont say anything else...."
lmao, that wouldn't work on my wife...she's got the nag of death going on...

Since my mom couldn't drive (and I don't even think they had happy meals back then - yea, I am old) something like that would have been out of the question.

I remember when BK had a special with spongebob watches - shit, I had to get one FOR ME!!! My Nini still has the watch that I got from BK as it was actually her birthday present from me. Yea, I was poor but she loved the gift anyway. :)

CM kids will remember the *silly little things we did for them*. Trust me on that one. There is no doubt here (or in your real world I am sure) that you really are an awesome mommy.

BKMOM said it correctly. When our kids are older, it's times such as these that they remember the "little things" that we did for them.
My oldest is now 23 and when he was around 6 yrs of age, I was working all the time to support 3 kids as a single dad. The thing that he remembers the most is when I would come home from work LATE, and maybe only get a few hrs of sleep, I would sit with him on my lap on the sofa for awhile.
Cherish your time with your kids. Like the country song goes...."your gonna miss this".

I could see CM being best friends with her kids...
I think CM is the archetype for a mom that kicks ass...
Good thread...

I didn't realize that they were at all valuable. Devin got one the other day and I threw it out because I didn't think he was old enough for it.

By the way, last time I went, they gave him a Pet shop toy instead of the transformer toy. WTF? Did they think he was a girl?

I used to pull the same shit when i was a kid. I never wanted anything from mcdonalds except a happy meal even though its the same food. Damn good marketing if you ask me.

I thought I would NEVER take Devin to McDonalds because I NEVER eat there, but I just took him to fast food for the first time about a week and a half ago and got him chicken nuggets happy meal with milk. WHY? Because I knew that they would have food packaged up in a neat little happy meal just right for his size. They are geniuses. I don't even like their food but I knew that all kids love it.

PS -- He freaking went nuts on some chicken nuggets...lol.
