Aside from that, I love Pecorino too...I eat spoonfuls of it sometimes right out of the fridge.

Oh you had an injury? Forgive me, but I only read the threads that are about ME.

:qt:
i have a muscle strain/sprain in the lower back stemming from an exaggerated arch in my low back and muscle imbalance/weakness in my hip flexors, etc. plus i have scoliosis but i dont necessarily think that's contributing to the pain

well it's a physical therapist. mostly stretches for my hip flexors and quads, core strengthening movements like pyramids, bridges, walk outs with the stability ball, oblique twist, etc. good stuff but boy am I a) weak and b) out of shape.

I see...

Most people have a total lack of core strength and dont realize how much balance they have lost by the weakening of their stabilizer muscles. This really hurts when people get older and actually begin to break bones from falls. Stretching is also important, helps avoid injury and lends itself to proper posture... another thing that peeps neglect.

If I remember correctly, your hip flexors are opposed by your glutes. You do a lot of sitting I take it? Desk job? Also your abs oppose your back, so you would benefit from really doing movements that strengthen your core. Hell EVERYONE would benefit from that, but this is soooo neglected. Remember, you are only as strong as your weakest link and all of your power comes from your core.... but your therapist is already on that. :)

I hate to sound like a broken record round here, but when your therapist gives you the OK, ask about aquatics. Perfect combination of low impact (if the movements are done correctly) cardio and muscle strengthening resistance work. And the constant movement of the water helps core strengthening and stability bigtime. Swimming is a bitch.... I mean you want to talk KILLER.... egad. :worried:

Hope you are feeling better soon.

You're not fooling anyone, it was Kraft Grated Parmesan in the green shaker can.

Cardinal rule is that you are never supposed to cheese on fish. Meh. I say do whatever you like, though.

You can try to deny it, every Italian tries to deny it, but they all have one of those green cans in the fridge.
