To everyone out there-----RUN from anyone who recomends Nubain/painkillers!!!! You have no idea how powerful it is.

Hydrocodone type pain killers in my opinion are complete poison. Try never to take PK but if anyone has to... stay away from hydrocodone.

thanks for posting this bro, this will hopefully help others that have had similar issues with drug dependence and let them know that there really is hope.

Major props to you for doing what had to be done to get clean. Its not easy to go away to rehab, especially for months, but its better then being a junkie.

just curious as to why you are saying hydrocodone imparticular? I pretty much feel that they are all the same when it comes to addiction, percs, hydrocodone, oxys, vics, nubain. I have never even met anyone that has used nubain thankgod, but I have taken percs every now and then to get through back pain from a workout and knee pain from a leg workout, but I keep it strictly to that. I luckily do not have an addictive personality and have never had a problem with anything, but I have close friends that have had issues. I have much respect for those that clean themselves up, I have seen people go through it and its not by any means easy.

Good luck bro, my prayrs are with you. I have been clean for almost 2 years now. Its hard, but stick with it bro, you can do it. PM me if you need any help, support, whatever it takes :)

btw,
vicodin, lortab, Norco... = hydrocodone strong
percs = oxycodone stronger
oxycontin = longer lasting oxycontin strongest
then the list goes on to morphine, doladtid, demerall

I am speaking from experience. I had a sports related back injury and was prescribed hydrocodone. At first it was a great pain killer. Then and not long ofter starting it changed my perception of life to the point where I did not like to do virtually anything. Stopping was a bitch because the doctors ( and I mean 2 of them) told me I still needed to take them for pain. I finnally stopped and just took the pain head on and it eventually went away. I am not so sure that the pain meds did not amplify the pain when coming off of them. I took them for almost two months nearly daily and did not get back to my normal self for at least 3 months after stopping.

Just wanted to voice my admonishment. I did not mean to leave out others but I have no experience wtih any other pain medications.

Yeah I'm on vicodin right now for the pain in my mouth, but no way I will be addicted plus they only gave me a small amount :( lol.

Ever watch the Smashing Machine with Mark Kerr? Its about a MMA dude who was a freakin animal and got addicted to opiates and such, good documentary if you want to pick it up from the video store.

April 18th 2006 will be my one year anniversary of being off Nubain after a 3-5 bottle/week habit I had for 5 yrs. It's really taken a long time for me to get through the cloudy haze that cost me a new Mercedes, a couple bad ass motorcycles, and 7 figure/yr business. I too thought that it could never happen to me-I've done just about every rec drug known to mankind at one time or another w/o the fear of becoming hooked-boy was I wrong. I still have some material things left, but I truly believe Nubain temporarily killed my desire to make the most of my life and myself. I kicked with the help of nobody. I have no living relatives and very few close friends(mainly by choice cuz I'm a selfish bodybuilder that's life revolves around training/eating). Anyway, the 1st 3 days of WD's was enough to promise myself I'd never do it again. The month of incurable insomnia that followed strengthened my desire to stay away from PK's even more. I wonder if we had the same source? He ran out unexpectedly and I was forced to quit without a choice. It was truly a blessing in disguise. Congrats on kicking your habit. You'll be a better person now because of it. That which does not kill you...

Good flick-one of the best documentaries I've seen. I used to see Mark's old lady at the gym right around the time it was being filmed. She would give the "come fuck me eyes" to every guy in the gym over 230 lbs. No wonder the guy needed to be doped up.
