I'm in the National Guard and I had to take a PT (Physical Fitness Test) on Sunday. I maxed out the Push-up and Sit-ups portion of the test, but when it came for the timed 2 mile run...I thought my legs were going to fall off!!!! I put on waste too much weight this last month!! My chins were so swollen by the 3rd lap that I HAD to stop. It was pretty embarrassing when the medics had to come and get me since I couldn't walk. That's how bad my chins were. Time for my a$$ to start doing some light jogging!!

For those of you that know me here are my current stats, alot better than last time:
I'm up to 192.
16" Arms
46" chest
33" waist

yep to much muscle size makes you so lazy, when I was cut I had so much energy

I agree last year at 175 i would run 3-5 miles a night no problem, now at 195lbs i can't run half as much, actually i don't run at all. But i am still 9%BF is its oK, i guess. But i will never get to 5-6% if i don't get my lazy ass in gear.

M56M

Damn Star, beauty and brains. Will you ever cease to amaze me? Great pics in the other sections

I'm the same as M56M. 185 no problem running 5 miles
210 got shin splints in less than two miles.

You guys are weak. I run 5 miles a day (5 days a week...M-F), and I'm 250lbs. ;)

Hmmm...

Ok, but how long does it take you to run it?

I'm guessing 2hrs............HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Me. 2.5 miles: 13:35
Me: 5.0 miles: 30:24

Beat that!

You guys should play rugby and THEN you'll know the
meaning of FITNESS.

Godspeed

Jesus Christ I did 10k twice a day on BOTC, damn DI,

But later It got worst  shit :( ,<

Hit the cardio, bring it up! and youll be just fine ( I hope ) :D :mix:

Work also your legs for endurances, that my problems right now, I had knee surgery, two months ago
and I am back, but endurance is not the same, I mean cardio is way good, your two miles run is like a walk in the park, but damn it the knee thinks I am hiking the everest

Fonz

I did play rugby. Of course that was back when I was 185. I played flanker.
What position do you play? I bet your a skinny little wing.

Jesus, I knew you National Guard types were lazy, but good god man!!! Just kidding!! I used to be in A Co 3/75 Ranger, so I know all about running. Some days are worse than others, that's for sure. We used to have to do our PT tests like this--Run 2 miles, no break, situps 2 minutes, no break, and pushups 2 min. WTF!!!

Chalk it up to experience, bro. You'll do just fine next time (I am sure your 1SG will make sure of that!).

No quite. I play fullback. I actually played for the Oxford
Harlequins Under-21. I was 198lbs then.
And I can kick a convert from 57 yards out. :)

You played flanker at 185? Now thats SKINNY. :) LOL

A: I'm not a f**king weekend warrior like the rest of those bastards in my unit. I was active 3 years and had to get out due to my mother's medical problems (not just an excuse). I came out from 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment which is in Fort Carson, Colorado, the most kick ass training you'd ever get!! JRTC can kiss my A$$ compared to the sh** we did!! I am a 19-Delta Cavalry Scout "recon specialist" notice that I put that sh.. in quotes. I was a specialist at just 17 months in, got 2 wavers signed by my troop commander and the squadron commander. I was the youngest E-4 in my Squadron at the time, and one that had an ARCOM. So the last thing I am is "lazy" as you so eloquently put it. I ran my 2 miles in 13:00 flat every time. I could never get better than that...NEVER!!!!! I always maxed out everything else besides that. Which drove me insane.

and B: ..........there is no B. I'm the SHIT!!!!!!!!

and yes...I meant shins not chins......thank you Star you're a sweetie for that.

A couple weeks ago, I ate a big piece of beef jerky before running, and I started having chest pains at 1 mile. I forced myself to run another one and a half. I felt like crap and I was having cold chills and stuff. It must've been dehydration from the jerky. Never do that :)
