I think we grow all over if we grow at all. Especially for those who don;t already have massive physiques...

I grow best doing dynamic work - fast pulls seem to blow my back and traps up compared to lat pull downs or machine rows even did/could. Same w/ leg work...while back squats ar a staple for me, for size I have found Plyos and static jumps w/ DB's to give more size, sprints as well.

I wonder why this is not the case for arms...

I get the feeling you're naturally strong (not that you haven't worked on it but you know what I mean) which means you probably have a lot of type II fibers which will react favorably to those kinds of movements. If you wanted to build arms there are things that you can do but they may actually work against your other lifts. Then again, how much do biceps really come into play in the power moves?

Not much, they mostly stabilize.

The most growth i've seen on my biceps is from isolated curls.

Right now i'm curling 52.5 lb db's for 6 reps . . isolated on preacher curl.

That's pretty damn good if you ask me.

This is paramount info for neewbs. IMO, if you people don;t already freak-out about how big you are then trying to 'hit the guns' is a waste of time. Anything that takes away from ones ability to add weight to the bar on the main lifts is not a great idea.

Now, once your reppin' BW on bench, maybe 2x BW on Deads and squats, then you already have big muscles.... if you wish to 'shape' them at this point it will work better, and will seem easier.

My biceps seemt o grow a the same pace as my calfs - both are 18", and while that is not big by BB standards, they seem bigger than everyone I encounter in my life - gym included. I know the typicall 'board rat' has 21" internet guns...I can;t compete w/ them w/out my sythenol...lol

Biceps are just along for the ride... and while it may be the ride of a lfetime, I'm sure they get bored. Doing some Iso work is fine, but CNS addaptation comes from overload, IMO, and thus heavy pulling seems to be the best for arm growth....
