HST Progress - 03-25-03

So this will be my 5th workout day of HST, second to last day of doing the 15 reps. Getting tougher now.

So first off, I have an arsenal of 14 exercises that I know my 15, 10, and 5 rep max for.

For any given day I do 9-10 of those, 2 sets each at the set number of reps.

Every workout has Deads and Squats. The other ones rotate a bit.. but this is what I do.

Deads
Squats
Bench
Shoulder Press
Shrugs
Back (pull down or row)
Bis
Tris
Hamstrings


So the workouts have been making me feel good.. but I hope that is not just because its so much so fast and so many reps its like circuit training. No way to gauge any strength gains. Weight is pretty consistent.. maybe up a pound or two.

Have not been doing cardio or abs.. but I need to do cardio because I'm racing in a 5K in 3 weeks!


I finish the 15 rep cycle this Thursday.. and then I am taking 4 days off and jumping into the 10 reps on Tuesday.

Did you do any bodypart measurements? I find those helpful. There will be weeks when I measure maybe 1 pound or less of weight gain but my measurements will go up significantly.

Nah no measurements.. I'm not that picky.. and I can tell when I get bigger by comparing pictures.

Well racing isn't really the right word I guess.

Right now I will run between 25 and 28 minutes.

My goals have been gaining size and strength, not speed. In the past I have run this same race at 20:13.. with regular training I could break 20 on it.

PR... 17:45 but that was years ago and many lbs lighter.

I was a runner most of my life.. here are some other PRs

400m: 52 sec
800: 1:54
Mile: 4:46

half marathon: 1:28
 
wow, that's really impressive. My PR in the 5k is 19:44 and my pr in the mile and 800 are 5:43 and 2:33, I'm a really slow runner.
