How to eat the WHEY Gold Standard protein powder?

Hi Friends,
I am 28 m with 200 lbs weight and I started going to the gym from Feb 1,2009. I go to the GYM 4-5 times a week in the morning 745- 9:00am. I bought this supplement protein powder:


I am not able to decide what would be the best way to eat it. The powder box says to eat one scoop after work-out and then one or two scoops later in the day. But the guy who sold this. told me that I should eat 1 scoop before going to the GYM, then eat 1 scoop after work-out, then eat 1 scoop between breakfast and lunch and finally one scoop between lunch and supper.And I was just wondering, after workout in the morning if I eat one scoop, can I drink tea and have breakfast in the next 15-20 minutes or I have to wait for an hour or so....

I am really confused how to go with this and would appreciate if some expert can throw some help here...

It'd probably be best to take a scoop before working out, and 2 scoops after working out.

You should be eating breakfast before you go to the gym. Drink two scoops of the protein after your workout, and then have your next planned meal 30-45 minutes later.
 
Eat? You do mean drink, right?


When I was in the service we didn't always have milk around, and I knew a guy who would technically eat it. He would put a scoop in his mouth, chew a lil bit and then wash it down with water. He said he HATED the taste of it mixed with water, and doing it this way was much better...

Never understood how he did that....

That's disguting and makes no sense if he's chasing it with water....I don't like the taste of protein mixed with water either so I just put about 6oz in there and gulp it down.

I concur with this. Outside of your post-workout shake, it really doesn't matter when and where you get your protein in. Just make sure that you get at least 1g of protein per pound of bodyweight, spread throughout the day, EVERY day!

I am sorry, you got it rite !!! I drink it with water and crushed ice.

So I guess, the best way would be to take 2 scoops after work-out and then wait for 30-45 minutes for breakfast. (I am sorry, I can't have breakfast as the first thing in the morning because I prefer taking limejuice + water first thing in the morning and then hit the gym). And then spread the rest of the scoops in the day according to your body weigth.

I know it's hard but is there any benchmark before this product starts to show any results like 1 month, 3 months, 6 months ????

You should atleast add a protein shake and some slow digesting carbs before you workout bro. You have to have some calories for energy. Just eat some oatmeal. No there is no benchmark before protein starts to show any results. It's just protein it's not like your injecting testosterone or something. It's a supplemement.....in which you take to help you reach your goals. Proper diet and proper training is how you get results!
