Ive read alot online that poeple switch up thier workouts very often, i know that you are supposed to keep your muscles guessing so that they can keep growing? well i was wondering how often does every one switch them up, would it be good if i switched every week up coming into the gym, or is that too soon? please give me some ideas onwhat you guys do thanks*

hey i am pretty new to weigth lifting but i have been changing every 6-8 weeks and that seems to work well. i get bored after about 6 weeks and am very ready for a change up. maybe somone else will have better reasons but that is what i like so that is what i do.:fro:

Not often at all. I find there are only so many decent exercises worth doing, so i'm not really interested in changing for the sake of changing.

Too often. You need to be more analytical than that. Find out what works and what doesn't. Changing for the sake of changing will get you nowhere.

what about every mnth or so

That's what i have been told before also. My feelings on that though are that when you switch to a new workout, it takes a little time to figure out exactly what weight you should be working with. You know, sometimes the weight you pick is too light or too heavy. I would stay on a workout for more than a month, especially if gains are good.

Just a thought.

you dont have to switch up the whole workout, just vary the order you do your exercises or substitute once in a while.

do rack deads instead of regular deads
DBs instead of BB for chest
switch up flys between flat bench and decline
tons of different excercises for back, seated, BB, upright, pulldowns, one arm DB, face pulls, Tbar
i switch between military and DB press on shoulder day

theres enough different ways to hit muscles that your routine doesnt need a complete overhaul to make every angle/ part of your muscle is getting hit

I think is in the DC article that I have read that but it was written that you have to change the exercice every time you cannot increase the weight on the exercice,

For the workout, I am not a old bodybuilder and surely not the best but 6 to 8 weeks it's about the time that I use for a workout.

hey when i said switch up i meant that i kept the same workout persay. i just went from dumb bell to bb or vise versa. or i put one thing before the other. stuff like that. i still keep the basics the same i use 5x5 and that stays. i just move around and change the accesory higher rep lifts.:fro:

Oreo how often do u switch tho, i do the same things but i was just wondering how often to switch , like u said from bb to db guess ill try it each week and see th results

I say switch it up when your growth becomes stagnat. If it aint broke, do fix it.
