How much do you pay for single bedroom apartment?

Just wondering. I just signed a new lease for one for $555/month. Could have gotten a studio or something for $400+ but those things are shoeboxes.

What do you pay?

around here 900 bucks to live in a dump.....

1100-1300 to live in anywhere decent. if you're talking about the beach, it's 1400+ easy

i don't live in a 1 bedroom though

still beats the cost of living compared to NYC

Midwest here, in a medium sized city outside chicago, so the rent will be much cheaper. No beaches round here :)

$600

800 sq ft, 1 block from a 24000 acre lake in uptown.. with a dedicated parking..

heat cable included..

$1700, but I split a 3BR.

at least 2000

I could save an assload of money and get a nice townhouse or something if I could put up with a roommate.

But I can't.

Last time I rented was in Cincinnati. It was $1300 for a 1br loft apartment in the city.

ouch....NY/NJ cost of living for ya....

word. i live in jersey, right on the hudson, across from the financial district. it's a nice area, but still...these prices! and it's not the most expensive living in downtown jersey city, either. i'd like to move into the city, but for a nice 1br, then we're talking 3,000-5,000. of course, you can find better deals, especially uptown.

$500-$800 average in Ozaukee county, about twenty miles north of Milwaukee. (I'm excluding Mequon, but they only have $3M mansions; no apartments.) This is for a very low-crime and pretty homogeneous suburb area in the wealthiest county in Wisconsin. I'm excluding condos and similarsuch.

Man, I'd hate live in a major city (major := population >> 750K) and pay $2K for a friggin' 1BR apartment.

:cow:

My gf pays around 750/month in tucson. Utilities are included. I go over there and we crank the A/C to 50 degrees haha.

In the TDot it depends on area. You can get a basement 1br in Parkdale (Crackton) for $600 but anywhere good it's at least $900.

I believe I'll be looking at $1400-1600 for a 1 bedroom - maybe 800 sq feet just south of San Francisco.

in boston you could pay as high as 2500 for a one bedroom down town newburyport is pretty close to that to...but there are some good places were you can even get a 3 bedroom for 775 and great areas to.

Around here NW IN in you can get 1br for about 300 in gary or hammond/east chicago if you don't mind crackheads and toothless hookers.

maybe per capita - at least I think it did at one time or another. fuggin shithole that entire area is. post-industrial NW Indiana

when I lived in that area I rented a sweeeeeeet 2 bd apt for about $575/month this was in 1995. I lasted 2 months until I couldnt take the trash that lived in the complex. but i hated giving up that pad - it was biiiiiiiiig with two bedrooms and even a kick ass master bath! OMGZZZZ

In Jersey I paid near 1K for A DUMP... Still have a 1br w/loft - very nice for $1,260.00 even though I moved to TX in November. Thank God the lease is up at end of June. Talk about yer expensive storage!

For a bit more we could have lived in a penthouse in a SWEET area of Dallas just to give you an idea of the price difference.

Here the cheapest 1 bedroom I found was for $415.

But they pulled the old "Haven't remodeled since the 70's" theme, brown carpet, brown and orange kitchen, brown fridge. WTF!

I lived in one of those but 3 bedroom style my soph year, rent was $515. Crazy cheap to live in a shithole.

me and my roomie pay 500 each a month to split a ghetto 2 bedroom in el barrio.

2 good things bout this place

it was added on top of a large garage so there are no other tennants...just the 1 apartment.

and I got my own entrance to my bedroom if I dont feel like walking through the main apartment door.

I've offered to slam your back door for you - lol. Still cracks me up.
$535 per month for a 1 bdrm w/washer, dryer. In a 45 year old run down, but quiet (no pets or kids allowed) security building 1 block east of the Vegas Strip.
