i put up 300lbs for the first time yesterday......i am psyched...

guys.......just be honest...HOW MUCH DO YOU BENCH?

I'd like to add to your question bro, how many times do you train your chest a week?

i normally do 2 but am beginning to think i could get better gains doing it only once and working it to total failure

300 is amazing. top drawer mate
 
This ought to get good! After reading the "post your stats" a week ago I realized how full of shit most of the people here are.

Everyone claimed to have the same stats as the pros yet when you go to every gym in the US you only see a handful of people that are 5'8" 230 and 6%. But they all happen to hang out here at elite. I bet 95% of the guys here are normal looking guys with better than average muscle development.

yo yo yo....ripped to shreads and sust man how big r u...i had a guy on my college football team that was 6-0 about 310 and he threw up 550..i was amazed....but any way to answer the question i can get about 335 right now... i am 20 years old....i wanna get it up to around 365-375 by end of summer!
i am a 6-5 240 tight end!!!
 
i used to train chest twice a week and our football workout had us doin it twice with only 2 days of rest in between i didnt like it...i am doin it once a week right now 5 sets of 5...try that..u will be sore every week no matter how long u been liftin for....i am got 275 for 5 sets of 5 yesterday....i will go up to 280 next week..u should gain every week if u get all the reps...sets 4 and 5 get hard....i wanna be up around 300 or so by april or so...peace fellas....good question...we need more interactive questions...as long as everyone is honest
 
Only 245 in my workout right now. I haven't been on a cycle in about a year.
My all time max is 300, which I hope to get back up to by this summer.
 
Im not really sure.. In my last workout I did 295 for 10 pretty easy.. so I would guess Im right around 400... I train chest once a week..I'll switch up incline benches and flat benches from month to month..then I also do weighted dips..only 3 sets of each...
 
You mean your supposed to add weight to the bar?

295 for 10reps doesn't put you at 400.

I did 305 for 7 reps and it came out to be like 369, so you are probably close to me.

Dr.. it was an easy 10..I feel I could of done 3-4 more..but I had no spotter...I know that a straight 295 for 10 will not put you at 400..but like I said..I feel I could of done 3-4 more...how tall are you and what do you weigh..btw???
 
have done 225 for 30, 315 for 12, and 435 for one(with wraps but no shirt). The 435 was at a weight of ~220. The 315 was ~210.
 
What are some stats to go along with the lbs, such as weight, age, ht, bf%
Personally 23 5'9" 175, 10% push up 280 for one rep.
I'm looking for the 300CLUB
 
I train my chest about every six days. It is my strongest muscle group. I got 405 for 6 reps a couple days ago. I sure I could hit at least 455. 5'10" 235, bf probably around 13%.
 
I am 22, 5'9", 176lb, ~9%bf:

Flat Bench: 300 x 2, 275 x 6, 225 x 15,
Incline Bench: 225 x 7
Dumbells (best) 120lb x 5
Military press (best) 225 x 6
Squat: 315 x 8 ass-to-floor

i can bench the empty bar for 2 negatives with a spotter, of course, only if i feel strong...yesterday i psyched out and did 3 NEGATIVES with the empty bar!!!!!!! TOP THAT!!!!!!

Lots of impressive weights on the bench but I have not seen anything special for squats or dead lifts. I squated and dead lifted more than anything mentioned above at 18 and at 195lbs.Not a flame guys but i find those to lifts to be more impressive than the bench press.

I never do flat bench, just incline and decline (and other chest sets). Flat bench hurts my shoulder too much. I really don't give a shit what I can bench anyhow. Used to care, don't anymore

6'1 (1/2) 230lbs bf 13 or so

don't know why but the bench is not my strongest exercise. hurts my shoulders. I rekon I could probably top about 200 right now.

Chest should only be worked once a week natural right? (benching I mean)
 
bench is my weakest, i can only throw up about 250, but i do so many different excercises for my chest, my chest looks like it can bench like 350, but i cant so oh well
 
Darkstar and Seifer....thank you for being honest. I do mostly flyes and db movements for chest, on bench I top out around 250. My chest looks good and I really don't care about having a "strong" bench. I'm a bodybuilder not a powerlifter.

My best is 405 with a bench shirt and 375 without a shirt at a body weight of 190. But I'm a powerlifter, so I train for strength.
 
complete and total honesty... NO BULLSHIT...
i am down to 225lbs... i can HONESTLY only do 135 flat bench... and thats a struggle...

I saw CHYNA a year ago in New Hampshire do 275 for 5 reps----That was impressive for a chix---HHH struggled with 315 for 2 reps.
 
I was never a good bencher. I stopped doing flat bench about 2 years ago because it hurt my shoulder girdle too much.

I got up to a 300lbs one rep max while weighing about 190lbs but pretty fat.

Now I do only inclines and declines.

Incline Dumbell Press I did 105lbs for 8 reps last week.

I USE THE SHORT CURL BAR WITH JUST THE CLIPS!!!!!!!! AND WITH A LITTLE STRUGGLE I CAN DO ABOUT 6 REPS.... AND TODAY I DID THE 15LB DUMBELLS INCLINE FOR 3 SETS OF 10. MAN DOES MY CHEST HURT!

I can do 3 solid, clean pushups all the way down to the ground...I sometimes have to rest at the bottom but can still pump it out baby!!!! Strength and power is my middle name.....ooohhhhhh yeahhhhhh!!!

about the best ive done is 300 for 6 reps, but that was 6 months ago!
Now I am lucky if I can do 260 for 8. I have always sucked at benching. I stick more too dumbell flys and inclines & declines at 70lbs each
 
first of all, there are different kinds of bench presses. flat, incline, decline, smith machine, dumbell flat, dumbell incline, dumbell decline, preacher bench, jonny bench, tool bench, oh and this question is gay.

With 29" arms and a 97" chest you would think I could do more than 6 reps with 1,500 pounds but hey I never said I was strong.

I am currently doing rack lock outs with the green rubber dumbells they have next to the ladies locker room. They don't have a weight written on them, so I assume my max is about the same as the rest of you meatheads.
 
Well if I take a double dose of creatine 20 minutes before workout I can get 8 reps with 135 with a good spotter and if I'm on Test & Anadrol and mid cycle I might get 10 reps I'm one buffed dude.
 
Once those new Muscle Tech bars come out I'll be sure to add 150 lbs to my bench in the first 3 days

This thread started out half way decent but WTF.

I guess I'll post anyway.

5'11" 205 lbs. 40 years old.
Flat Bench:Max a couple of months ago was 275 for 4.
This week 255 for 5.
Better at dumbbells. This week inclines 100 for 5, with wraps. I'm not lying about my age either. Wish I had been training like many of you bros were at age 18 and 19.
 
I'm just a little guy.
5'10" 181lbs. 6-7% right now.
I train chest only once a week. I'll do 6 sets of incline smiths and 2 sets of flat bench I'll pyramid up to my current max of 245 for 10 then do my sixth set really slow with just a pair of 45s. It took me four years before I could even bench more than 180lbs. I've started bring the bar to my chin instead of my upper chest on the incline presses, and am exploding in the upper chest though I have had to decrease my weights to keep proper form. fun fun all the time.

Turn 19 on tuesday, Im 6'1 200, can get 275x5 but have no clue as to my max, I havn't done that since summer. I think it my bench sux, but then again it will always suck
 
Ok i am 15....5'6...125 the most ive ever done is 140.......hey im starting out though so ill be up where you guys are at someday!
 
5'8 185lbs and can bench 260x1 but did 270 last year....it's very heavy for me though and I don't like to max out...

Best is 335 for 1 before I started dieting for a competition in April. Hope to get 350 by next winter.

I'm a sucky presser, my best bench was 245 for 3, but that was years ago. I usually don't do flat bench presses anymore. Mt overhead press sucks too, thought it's increasing , best is 185 for 4. However,I can barbell row 365 for 3,335 for 8, curled 185 for 4, my best squat is 615-parallel,525 below parallel for reps, deadlift 445 for 3 from the floor and 545 for 3 from below knee level.

1 RM

I just got off a bench program and my new 1 RM is about 230. I've been training for a year and some change. I started at a whopping 85 lbs 1 RM! With respect to myself, I've made gains.

My bench is fairly weak. Never done a 1RM on either lift, but today I'll be shooting for 295 x 3 on the flat, 260 x 6+ on the incline.

Uhh...my weighted dips are good, though. heh.

6' 2", 10% bf and I did 5x5 at 155 lbs last week.
I've never tried 1RM and I always do incline bench with the same weight as my first, and flat bench my second exercise. But I suspect my 1RM is not much higher.
Long arms make it harder to lift heavy, eh?

Can only do bench now since my knee surgery. It's been 6 wks since....

My max is around 255 I think, but I am only 5'10" and I don't think I weight 160 yet - more like 155. I like to think I am sorta strong for my size :)
