How many push ups + pull ups can you do?

not much of either anymore (fat)
pushups probably 25 at a stretch
pullups I never could ever even do one full rep, so my answer is .25

200? what? spread out throughout the day?

the most pushups (correct ones) i have ever seen anyone do is nowhere even remotely close to that number. not even the guys participating in Best Ranger can bang out 200 pushups non-stop.

60 and 23 for me...working on it.

Army test for pushups is how many you can do in 2 min without dropping the knees to the ground. Most I have ever done is 82.

67,384 given enough time

:eek2: @ 200 push ups.
4 years us army.all I did was push ups,sit ups and run.once I got out I stop running so much but I all ways kept up with the push ups.I can do 100 in 2mins with no rest and with a few rest and about 7 mins I can do 200.and by rest I dont mean drop to my knees.I mean the standard military rest with is sag in the middle or arch your back knees can not tuch the ground feet and hands are not aloud to come of the marching surface.all push ups are to be performed correctly for them to count
start with feet and hands on the ground arms extended fully with the elbows locked feet shoulder with apart or together.the hole body is to be in a straight
line.a complete and correct push up is all the way down with the hole body straight no sag in the midle or ark in the back.come all the way down braking the plane meaning the stern of your back is below your elbows.then all the way up locking your elbows again at the top.

one thing that is not one the test but they fuck you with every time is you should all ways be looking straight a head when doing a push up.its not on the test but if you are looking down it makes it look like youre not straight and they will not count it.I used to get fucked out of a few push ups every time becuase of that.

Push ups, never done more than 20 at once. Pull-ups, around 14-16. 34 is my record.

thing about the army test is that you have to do situps and a two mile run right after so most quit once they hit max points, which for me is 66.

You can go further than 330. Especially since they changed the standards in 1999. Its super easy now. In Basic I saw a little vietnamese dude do 140ish pushups and 150ish situps but couldn't run to save his ass. He was freakin amazing. No one else could come close to him in those 2 events.

ya I saw some small girl blast out like 120 once she was sick.

back in my army days I could do 80 nonstop and 100 situps nonstop. Pullups? When I was 15 I could do 30ish. Now I do 3 sets of 20ish. Depends on the day.

Impressive, but one must take into account your limited range of motion.

i go down until my upper arms are parallel to the floor. its bench pressing that gives me the advantage.

pushups 3 sets of 20 , pull ups on 3 sets of 15 now, but I think I could do more warmed up at one time.. and no they are not assisted or modified.

damn that's good for a girl. You natural?

pushups never tried
pullups (wide grip, no straps, all the way down and chin to bar) proly 13-15
fucked up, with a plate, i can still eck out 10 (wide grip no straps)
with a plate and 25, still can knock out 7-8

yeah, no supps either, just food and rest. I was injured awhile back and spent close to two years on crutches, so all I was able to do was upper body and paddle canoe or paddleboard.
I can rip out some weighted dips too. :)

Make that 63 push-ups.

Going to do around 200 push-ups and 60 pull-ups per day to see how much i can improv. Hopefully i won't get tendonitis in the elbows!

the best way to improve pushups is often a debated topic. what i, and many other people i know, have found is doing numerous sets throughout the day has helped.

i usually do this a week or so before a pt test, and i usually get out an extra 10-12 pushups doing it that way than if i didn't do it at all.

also, we used to do pushups with our rucks on our backs filled with shit.

there are a million different ways people swear increases pushups, but those are the ones that worked for me.

<-maxing out pushups on the pt test....wish the same could be said for my run time lately.

you know what's awesome? taking a pt test at 4:15am when it is 20 degrees out.

why is it so awesome? because chances are you didn't eat since 6pm the night before, you didn't have any fluids since 9pm the night before, and you probably rolled out of bed at 4am.

oh yeah, did i mention you have to do pushups on the cold ass ground at that time.

god, there is nothing worse than an early morning pt test in the fucking cold.

Can you elaborate on what a pt test is? What's the max?

What you described sounds like hell anyway! I do mine after a 12 hour day at work when i'm exhausted but wouldn't enjoy it on an empty stomach early in the morning.

I saw a martial arts show where this old buy (like 60yo) cranked out 100 in a minute, it was fucking impressive.

best run time I got was 13.40 mins strait out of airborn.it slowly went down from there though.

Push ups:

25 right hand only, feet together.

20 left hand only, feet together, 5 more after that with feet apart, poor form

Or about 20 fingertip push ups (both hands, three fingers only)

Pull ups:

12-15 right arm only

~10 left arm only

Proper push ups:

We do proper push ups in my BJJ class after training, everyone does a 10 count, the instructor makes sure everybody sticks to form. With 10-20 people per class, that's 100-200 push ups.

Proper pull ups:

At least 25 with a 10kg weight.

Wow!

I can't even wrap my mind around that.

I do 3 sets of 30 pushups and i'm not so sure they are strict. I do keep my hands in close about shoulder width apart. Never tried pullups but I'm sure I would suck at them

BTW, in 20+ yrs in the Army I've never known a woman to do 50 pushups.

go to any super PC TRADOC post. all of the girls there will be busting out 100+ pushups, because everything counts as a pushup there.

walk up and observe when they are taking a pt test. you'll see what i mean.

a pt test is a physical fitness test. in the army it's called an APFT (Army Physical Fitness Test).

for us it consists of max pushups and max situps in a 2 minute time period for each.

during the pushup event, you cannot rest on your stomach or lift a hand or foot off of the ground. if you do either, the event will be stopped right there. the only authorized rest position is that similar to an upside down V.

same shit goes for situps. max number in 2 minutes with your fingers interlocked behind your head. you cannot rest on your back, either. the only authorized rest position is at the upwards portion of the situp.

you cannot unlock your fingers, rest on the ground, pull yourself up, etc; doing so will result in the event being cancelled.

then it is a 2 mile timed run. the only rules here are you cannot leave the track and you cant have anyone pulling or carrying you.

that is the basics.

depending on your unit, they will have stricter guidelines as to what counts as a pushup. some units will not let you use a watch on your run, so you cant pace yourself that way, either.

maybe he is one of those 'special people'

you know, the 'cooks' who just happen to have halo, pathfinder, advanced demo school, marine scout sniper training, etc.

its been a while since i've locked up,I used to be able to do 80 pushups without stopping, 36 pullups, but this was a while back, I don't do pushups anymore, still do pullups, chins, but cant' do what I used to be able to do

Back in Navy boot camp I could do 86 perfect pushups non-stop. I once did over 200 pushups without resting. I maintaintedthe pushup position when I had to rest or leaned on one arm or the other. By the time I was done the linoleum floor had a pool of sweat about 2.5' in dimateter under me.

Of course I weighed 160lbs back then.

Most pullups I have ever done were 11 perfect reps all the way up to the sternum to all the way down to full hang with straight legs and no jerking whatsoever. A navy seal instructor counted them out so they had to be perfect.

Of course, imho nowadays how many pushups or pullups you can do means diddly as it's just strenght endurance.

Now if you can do a single unsupported handstand, then you are badass.
