I understand....
It has taken me a whole year to find the right combo of lifting, cardio, and finally, thanks to this board and Ms. Fit on another, I got the diet thing down!
I always did cardio, ate all kinds of *#*! that I thought was healthy (Low-fat, LOL), lifted light since I was alway so naturally musclular thanks to my fathers great genetics and doing gymnastics for 10 years. However, as I got older (29 now), boy did I get a rude awaking in on the back of my butt and thighs
Come to realize my diets caused me to lose muscle that was replaced with ugly fat when I began to "eat normal" again. Finally, I started lifting, and lifting for real or "like a guy" LOL. Gained 15 lbs., but with my crappy diet, and got ,I hate to say it, "bulky" . It wasn't until I read, read, read, as much as I could on DIET that It all started to make sense. Some say it is 70% diet, for me it is 99.9% diet.
Since then, I have started cleaning it up, and already seeing great results! My upper body looks great and my legs and butt are really showing improvement. I actually stood in front of the mirror last night and thought, "It is really starting to look pretty good back there".
) The results are starting to show, but it has taken a year to find the right combo - and it has been the best year of my life. I feel good - and that is best feeling on earth and I look forward to my gym visits instead of dreading them.
Anyway - all I guess I am saying with all of this is that it takes time, I still have a long way to go, but I have the best foundation. I realize that eating healthy is a way a life, not something you do for 3 months at a time to "lose weight". The scale doesn't matter - I look great at 5'6 135 - 140 and a size 6, but looked gross and unproportioned at 125 and a size 4. Not everyone looks good at the same weight so who cares what you weigh! Balance is everything in life!
Good luck.
