How long until you are completely forgotten after death?

I agree actually. For the most part people aren't remembered. It is sad. Unless people tell detailed family stories from generation to generation or something, I think we're arrogant to think people will know who we were 40 years after we're gone.

Yes, It is like you live your whole life... Trying to do right and make people happy. Make the world a better place and in the end....... It doesnt matter... You are really nothing more than a gravestone wasting space in a cemetary or some ashes that have blown into some gutter or something...

Well, who gives a shit about the rest of the world and how large the world is...As long as you have a tight group of friends and family iam sure that you will be remembered at least to the end of their days.

Everyone else...i could care less.

Like the sands in the hour glass, so are the days of are lives....

Dont do things to be remembered, anyone can do that (jeffery dahmer, ted bundy..) do things that will make a positive difference in the world.. then it doesnt matter if you are remembered because you will have made other peoples lives better... that will last forever.

I think I'm what they call an "end user".

A guy I used to bounce with died in his apartment when he accidentally put a .44 mag hollowpoint through his femoral artery. Bled to death before the ambulance got there. I went to help pack up his shit for his parents the next day. Some of his frat brothers showed up to help. But some had to study for a test, so they couldn't make it- selfish bastards. People really don't give a shit.

I know........ One of my best friends killed himself a few years back.... I was lucky enough to be the first one there after the police left and got the fine job of cleaning up the brains from the ground so his parents would have to look at them...

No matter what you do in life, whether you are successful or not, rich or poor, happy or sad...... you are gonna be dead just like everyone else..

That sucks, but it is true...

Makes me feel REALLY insignificant.

Leave your mark.

that is if you want to be remembered.

Jesus, Mark Twain, Attila The Hun, Ghandi and Robert E. Lee are remembered.

You illustrate my point.... These are some of the greatest men ever............. You say they are remembered , but are they really?

You know the names, but not the men.

Even greatness isnt remembered.

We had to call a carpet cleaning servie to get all the blood out of the carpet so his parents wouldn't see it when they got there. He was an awesome dude- 6'4", 320, division I ball player. I'm sure some didn't show up because they "just couldn't deal with it", but the way I see it, you bite the fuckin' bullet and do what you have to do out of respect. I mean, here's someone you were bullshitting with a week before, and now you're cleaning out his apartment and going to his funeral. Fucked up shit.
