How is my form? (videos)

unfortunately it wont let me post links yet for another week, so if you can go to youtube and search for "Criminal10dinC" you can find my channel.

i have video uploaded of me doing squats, leg presses, and good mornings. i feel like i can really improve on all of these exercises, that is why i am asking for help.

how can i improve my form?
 
why are you wearing gloves? throw those away please.. unless you want forearms and wrists of a 12 year old boy.

your form is not good at all, but most guys have bad form when they squat. you should definately watch some vids online on how to squat better. for starters you aren't going down low enough

good mornings i wouldn't bother with either. if you do compound lifts you won't need to bother with those at all.

you are not advanced enough to waste time with that kind of exercise. stick with the basics right now. squats, deadlifts, cleans will build up the legs. alternate those
 
Man it pissed me off that you're taking gear but you're asking whether your form is correct.

this is my way of perfecting myself. when was the last time you video recorded YOURSELF doing an exercise to gain better form?

i bet you're not doing everything perfect yourself.
 
I know a lot of people stop at parallel to the floor but I go all the way! And I agree at least you're tryin to get better and you have a new hobby that will better your life! Use the critisism as fuel to do better.

Leg presses are not one of the exercises you should be spending a whole lot of time on either, but if your going to do them you need to go alot further down. Also, get some videos of your squat from behind too. You def need to go lower, and from the back you can check how even you are between your legs.
 
I like to go all the way down on lighter weights on my squats and do heavy reps. not only does this make my glutes and hammy's sore the next day but it also keeps me from getting hemorroids. when i squat 400+ and go heavy i get them like clockwork 2 days later

Props to you for posting a vid and striving to improve. You've gotten some good advice. Implement and post another vid and we'll see how you've improved.

The general idea here is that gloves are for fags. Now, dont take offense criminal, its not directed right at you and besides, your new. You had no way of knowing that right? No gloves will give you manly grip strength.

Once in a while on a last set or something of heavier deads or some sort of pulling that really jacks up the calouses on my hands so that they pull out and fold over and hurt like hell i might grab some gloves. But That rarely happens ever.

i used to wear gloves too when i was younger. i started having major forearm and wrist issues, someone told me what I told you earlier.. that it ruins your wrist and forearm development. so i stopped using them, and magically my problems went away.

gloves give you better grips, which may seem like a good thing. but its like cheating and it will end up backfiring in the long run when your forearms/wrists don't grow.. same thing with wraps and belts and all that other bullshit i see 20 somethings using in the gym. now like burn said above, in certain situations its okay to use them... if you are a powerlifter trying to break your PR yeah why not use a belt to give you an advantage, or you are doing weighted pullups and you want to use straps.. FINE, do it for that particular set or rep. but to use the entire aisle from sports authority in the gym is nonsense and not necessary. the only thing you should be walking into the gym with is your water and your music headphones.. leave everything else at home

Weightlifting is a sport. If you are taking steroids to "get in shape", you need to revisit the diet and training section. I personally don't think anyone that isn't competing should be on steroids or at least not big cycles. But that's my personal opinion...

Wearing gloves dont make your forearms small, and it wont make you a pussy.. Im the biggest guy (in terms of leanness) in my gym and no one dare to say shit to me when im training and i wear gloves all the time..
Wrist wraps can make your forearms smaller if you rely on them, which i did alot and my forearms are small compared to my arms, its not because of the gloves its because of the straps..
Form on the leg press was horrible, you must go all the way down to get the most benefit, half reps on legs you get half the results, legs are the only muscle group that requires a full ROM and higher reps than other muscle group..

just google it. there are thousands of links. its common sense that wearing gloves will kill your grip strength... how could they not ?

if you have arthritis and you are under 40 then you are obviously doing something where you are causing your body to rebel against you. any type of inflammation is the body trying to heal itself, so I'm thinking you should avoid exercises that cause this issue to get aggravated. the gloves in this case are definately not gonna help your problem but they could definately make them worse over time.. and wrapping up your wrists and continueing to pound is not a smart idea at all.

the reason I was giving him a shpeel about gloves is he is a newb and its a little thing that can be corrected NOW before he gets neck deep and starts developing more and more problems.

I said if you use gloves your forearms and wrists won't develop as well as they would if you threw your gloves away. and over time you will end up with weaker wrists and grip strength. you might have the biggest forearms in the gym but that doesn't mean the gloves are aiding you, they are hindering you.... and you even admit you have smaller forearms and yes its cause of your gloves. if you wear gloves all the time your grip strength gets weakened over time, hence your forearms wont' develop as well. make your hand into a ball right now, then let go.. notice your forearm muscle will harden up.. now do the same thing to a bar WITH gloves.. there will be a HUGE difference, your forearms may not even harden up at all at this stage! this is common sense physics

When it comes to health and there is a ton of evidence that backs it up than yes. Do you not understand you will look the fucking same a few months after your cycle? You have a bad base. You look/eat bad before juice. You'll look bad/eat bad after juice. But hey, learn the hard way!

You do know that you cant make your wrist grow? There is no muscle in the wrist its just bone, gaining weight can make it bigger due to fat gain, also gh can make it bigger, other than that its all genetic..
Gloves dont hinder grip strength, ive tried training without golves after years of training with them, and it just felt weird when i was griping the dumbells but it did not make me lose my grip.. Straps can defiantly hinder forearm growth and grip strength.. Without straps i can lat pull or row as much cause i relied on them when i first started working out..

also why would anyone advise the OP who is a total newb to lifting to use gloves.. its mind boggling and its just plain bad advice on your part. assuming as you say gloves do nothing to improve grip strength, then wtf is the point of using them? just to look cool?

if you want to use gloves thats your business, but please the OP is already clueless enough, to tell him gloves are a good thing but wraps are bad is only gonna confuse the shit out of him more.

I've been in the gym for 15 years, I built a good base, and I have been really serious for the last 5-6 years. I just started doing shit a couple of years ago. And I'm competing next year...in super heavy.

we been telling him this for the past week but he is adament about doing it. he is humble enough to know he shouldn't be doing it but the guy has a history of substance abuse and I don't think he knows how to stop himself. thats my guess.

having said that he is old enough to make his own decision, if he was under 21 the thread would have been closed a long time ago. he isn't ridiculously skinny or fat.. he just doesn't have any experience or base with working out. i've seen way worse though.
 
You may want to avoid showing your face in the videos you post on youtube. Since you did a stint in rehab, I'm assuming you are on some sort of law enforcement radar, and your on there talking about doing something illegal.
