How does your period affect your training?

Hey Ladies,
I was wondering how you feel your period affects your training if at all? If any ladies have actual medical facts on if it does or not I would be very interested to see it.

A. I can lift like a mad woman twice my regular strength.
B. I feel like the life is sucked out of me can barely make it through a work out.
C. Doesn't feel any diffrent at all.
D. Depends changes month to month.
 
Sometimes I get cramps, but exercising actually makes them better (as does orgasm, which is, of course, the workout of the gods).

It doesn't really seem to effect my energy or strength either way.
 
I start taking Iron pills as soon as I start and then I up my cals a little to make up for the increased metobolic rate.

How much do you up your cals? How much Iron do you take?
 
I can barely move the first day of my period. It's awful...........stay in bed, sometimes the cramps are so bad, I puke, awful. Since I've upped my calcium & protein, they've eased off a bit.
 
For the most part, the biggest side effect is bloating and fatigue. Oh yeah, the emotional part too...:mix:
 
no riding the crimson wave these days for me....errrm, AS can do that for you.
but before, i could tough out all workouts EXCEPT leg day-hell no, no way, there was enough going on down there, then to add to it by getting in a squat rack- not!
LOL:)

ps. a good period cocktail is: good thermo, loads of water, iron and potass sup, taraxatone/lasix/or dandillion root, good source carbs....oh and chocolate-LOL haha.
