Do you train alone, with a partner, with other guys ?

alone. I actually HATE when anyone tries to talk to me in the gym, which is part of the reason I go at 7am when it is pretty empty. I like to get myself motivated. Maybe in the future I will seek out a partner and try it out though. I am sure it all depends on the actual partner.

I have one good friend who is a little stronger than me who helps me get motavated to try to catch up to him...but if he goes on vacation..i settle for a few other friend :P

I used to work out with a few people, but found that working alone really helps me concentrate on lifting and keeps me motivated. With people, we usually just end up bullshitting between and even during sets.

I train with my brother. We're 3 years apart in age. They call us the "biker brothers", not because we ride bikes, but just because we look like we could be bikers.

with and without a partner, depending on if hes there that day. The days he is, I always have awesome workouts as we compete in everything, and are very close in size and strength. When hes not there, I still have good workouts as I know hes going to ask how I did then try and beat it

same bunch of guys everytime. though they are just there... i don't actually work with them, they are just there whenever i'm there.

the only time they work in with me is if i work biceps  , which is not often. they don't need big quads to show off to the chicks

I used to workout with the same guy all the time, but he dropped out of school and now I just work out alone. I actually like it better because I am more productive, and I dont have to rely on him showing up on time - he was always late.

Same partner all the time... I try to get him to focus on progressively increasing weight, to push himself, etc, but he doesn't really take it seriously. But he spots me like no one else can :)

I train alone most always. Once a week on chest day, Ill train with the same partner Ive had for over 2 years. Thats about it. I may start training with my uncle again now that hes moved in the area. Most of my training is solo.

I have tried training with the same partner and had no luck....I train alone and use a journal...picking up a spot here and there, which can be dangerous.....

I've tried training with a partner before....but I dunno. I always seem to stay more focused, and more concentrated when I'm on my own. To each their own I guess.

alone.

i have yet to find a workout partner that is on par with my intensity (im all about shortish, intense workouts and breaking PRs) let alone brings mine up

i have gone through a dozen guys and they are all luggage

IMHO, a partner = more motivation

First you know each other so you can't lie nor cheat

Then you can yell at each other

The main reason I like having a partner is for when I'm doing some negative reps, or some very heavy weight and need the knowledge that someone is there to help me out if I get in too deep.

Mainly alone because nobody wants to train like I do. Back in college, I played ball, so training partners were provided, now that school is over all my friends give me the same crap "My knees hurt, I can't squat" (bullshit)....."I'm too old for that shit now" (I guess 25 is old age)....."I just want to be in-shape" (whatever the fuck that means)......what I am getting at is most of my old teamates and buddies are no longer interested in heavy, explosive training, and most guys in the gym only want to max on the flat bench every week and do biceps curls and pec deck exercises, so I fly solo, I am self motivated and don't need anyone, and there are some reliable guys to provide a spot in case I get burried, so it works for me.

solo always,a friend wanted to train with me but he backed out,for the second time now.

I make more progress alone anyways I think, people are a distraction, and all my friends my age go out at night on weekends and thats when I train

I've been working alone but would like to find a compatible partner or trainer to help motivation and focus. Anyone in South Florida???

Ft. Lauderdale. Plantation area. U?

Im in Boynton Beach. Not too far from your area. Where do you train? Not really looking for a training partner at the moment since I still have someone I train with on chest day, not to mention Im working around this injury still.

I train at Planet Fitness in Sunrise on University. It's really close to my office so it's convenient. Boynton Beach is a good 45 minute drive. Too far for working out, but I'll buy you lunch some day and you can give me some pointers.
