Horrific murder that I've heard nothing about....why?

I was in my car this morning and the morning radio show people were talking about a double murder in Tennessee this past winter that received virtually NO news coverage. And it wasn't an ordinary murder. There was gang rape, mutilation, torture...no coverage.

I'm going to post the link and pose the question...why do you think this has gotten next to no national coverage while stories like a missing girl in the bahamas (I can't even remember her name) and even ratially charged stories like the Duke "rape" case seem to receive endless and mind boggling amounts of coverage?

Some think it's a media bias about black on white crimes, but that seems unlikely to me. I'm curious about what others think.

[Channon] Christian and [Christopher] Newsom had gone on a date at a local restaurant on Saturday, January 6, 2007, but did not return home. During their drive, the couple was "hijacked, bound and blindfolded and taken back to Lemaricus Devall "Slim" Davidson's apartment."[4]

At Davidson's apartment, Newsom had apparently been group raped in Christian's presence.[4][5] According to Officer Todd Childress, “Newsom's body was wrapped in a 'sheet and/or comforter,' and that the victim had been shot at least three times. He also notes that Newsom's shoes, socks, identification, and iPod were missing. His body had been burned."[6]

Christian's parents found her Toyota 4-Runner on Chipman Street on Monday, with the help of her mobile phone provider. Because the killers ditched Christian's SUV just a few hours after it was stolen, it has been sugested that the primary objectives of the perpetrators was their desire to kidnap, torture, rape, and murder, instead of a simple hijacking.[7] An envelope recovered from the vehicle yielded fingerprint evidence that led police to Lemaricus Davidson and 2316 Chipman Street. When police went to the address on Tuesday, January 9, they found the home unoccupied and Christian's body in a trash can in the kitchen. She had been dismembered, her body found in five separate trash bags.[8] It has been alleged that for two days she had been group raped multiple times, beaten, and urinated upon.[4] "She (Vanessa Coleman) said she witnessed Christian's mouth being cleaned with a bottle of some type of cleaner," in an attempt to remove DNA evidence. . [8] Newsom's body was found adjacent to railroad tracks in East Knoxville the next afternoon.[4]

Some media reports have suggested that prior to their deaths Christopher's penis was severed and one or both of Channon's breasts were cut off, however the police department refuses to comment on these specific allegations, and the police department maintains it was a carjacking gone bad.[4]

Exactly...I mean some reports say that while alive, they cut of his penis and one of her breasts!
 
OH my god!

one or more of her breasts were cut off? While she was alive!?!?! OH MY GOD. How awful!!!

Mabye the story was too greusome? I have no idea why that did not get more coverage. Maybe stuff like this happens all the time.

Here in KC there is a trial beginning today about a kid who killed his social worker with a chainsaw.

I thought that would get more coverage too.....

Victims were white, five susects are all black. That, I suppose, is the question on the table. Is that the reason this isn't being talked about more? And if not, can someone provide an alternate theory?

A blog I read said it was because murder is common and blah blah blah. But this isn't just murder. It's sexual mutilation and torture. They allegedly urinated on her while she was alive. Poured bleach in her mouth, allegedly, while she was alive. Raped her boyfriend and forced her to watch. THIS kind of thing definitely is not common.

Some of the suspects have essentially confessed, so that might be part of it.
 
I posted this same story on the other board! This is one of the worst crimes I have ever read about. I was going to send this story tot he NAACP, but then I figured it would not do me any good!


This is the story I got:

The animals pictured above raped Christopher Newsom, cut off his penis, then set him on fire and fatally shot him several times while they forced his girlfriend, Channon Christian, to watch. An even more cruel fate awaited her!

Channon Christian, was beaten and gang-raped in many ways for four days by all of them, while they took turns urinating on her. Then they cut off her breast and put chemicals in her mouth and then murdered her.

Knoxville (WVLT) - The District Attorney General of Knox County announced the list of charges facing now five suspects in the double murder of Chan non Christian and Christopher Newsom.

The District Attorney General Randy Nichols is not saying whether or not he will seek the death penalty, but he does say the state will seek conviction for all charges filed in a 24-page indictment from the Knox County Grand Jury.

Lemaricus Davidson, 25, faces a total of 46 charges. Davidson was indicted on 16 counts of Felony Murder growing out of rape, robbery kidnapping and theft of Channon Christian and Chris Newsom, 2 counts premeditated murder of Christian and Newsom, 2 counts especially aggravated robberies from Christian and Newsom, 4 counts especially aggravated kidnapping of Christian and Newsom, 20 counts aggravated rape of Christian and Newsom, and 2 counts of theft from Christian and Newsom.

Letalvis Cobbins, 24, faces a total of 46 charges. Cobbins was indicted on 16 counts of Felony Murder growing out of rape, robbery kidnapping and theft of Channon Christian and Chris Newsom, 2 counts premeditated murder o f Christian and Newsom, 2 counts especially aggravated robberies from Christian and Newsom, 4 counts especially aggravated kidnapping of Christian and Newsom, 20 counts aggravated rape of Christian and Newsom, and 2 counts of theft from Christian and Newsom.

George Thomas, 24, faces a total of 46 charges. Thomas was indicted on 16 counts of Felony Murder growing out of rape, robbery kidnapping and theft of Channon Christian and Chris Newsom, 2 counts premeditated murder of Christian and Newsom, 2 counts especially aggravated robberies from Christian and Newsom, 4 counts especially aggravated kidnapping of Christian and Newsom, 20 counts aggravated rape of Christian and Newsom, and 2 counts of theft from Christian and Newsom.

Just last night, police in Lebanon, Kentucky, arrested 18-year-old Vanessa Coleman. She faces 40 Tennessee state charges. Coleman was indicted on 12 counts Felony Murder growing out of rape, robbery kidnapping and theft of Channon Christian and Chris Newsom, 1 count Premeditated Murder of Christian only, 1 count Especially Aggravated Robbery of Newsom only, 4 counts especially aggravated kidnapping of Christian and Newsom, 20 counts of aggravated rape of Christian and Newsom and 2 Counts of theft from Christian and Newsom.

Eric Boyd, 24, also arrested in connection with the fatal carjacking, only faces federal charges as an accessory after the fact. He was not indicted by Knox county grand jury.

Felony Murder carries a possibility of death, life without the possibility of parole and life with pa role. Especially Aggravated Robbery is a Class A felony that carries a possibility of 15 to 60 years in prison. Aggravated Rape is a Class A felony that carries a possibility of 15 to 60 years of prison.

At a news conference Thursday, Nichols commende d the cooperative efforts between several departments and credits that cooperation for the fast pace this case is moving through the court system.

Nichols says he hopes to move the case to trial on the first day it's set.

The four are expected to make their first court appearance within ten to fifteen days.

This is certainly a case garnering a lot of public interest, Nichols recognizes that and says he expects all kinds of requests filed in this case, including a change of venue in order to receive a fair trial. But he says he does hope 12 Knox County jurors will be able to determine the guilt or innocence of these suspects.





Where be the Reverends Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson? Are they providing counsel and help to the families of the victims?



Of course not, the victims were WHITE!



Why hasn't this received National coverage by the news media like the Duke "rape" case?

Why hasn't the NAACP, ACLU, New York Times etc., called for an investigation?



Must be cause the victims were WHITE!



Why hasn't the FBI been called in to investigate this as a hate crime?

I can't wait to hear the spin the lawyers for the five animals will put on this, the white's brought it on themselves, the accused are victims of an oppressive white society, the accused came from broken homes, they all have learning disabilities, they are disadvantaged, they never finished school, they be po.

i talked to my mom about it and she has heard NOTHING about it, and she lives like 45 mins from knoxville

If you do a search for South Beach, Miami, rape/murder/torture you will find this story is EXACTLY like another one here. At first I was thinking that someone typo'd TN in the place of South Florida.

Down here, the male however lived. He was forced to watch them rape his girlfriend for hours before he was taken out of the van and shot in the head and left on some embankment to die. She was then taken, raped over and over again, tortured and stabbed to death.

And Sharpton is a fucking joke. That man needs a taste of true blackness to straighten his ass out. Wait until he gets carjacked or something.

just another reason you never allow yourself to be forced into a situation where you cannot protect yourself..

fight until you die.. never go to another location with people that are obviously intent on crime... (stealing a car)..
 
I remember a case years ago in Little Havana where 3 black teenagers kidnapped a 19 year old white girl (white = obviously) and for almost a week they raped her nonstop. Even inviting their friends over to rape her as well. It was estimated that close to 30 different individuals raped this girl multiple times in the course of six days. She was raped to the point that she lost consciousness and the perps in order to get a response out of her during the rapes (apparently they didn't like fucking a beaten tortured girl because they said it was like doing a blow up doll) would heat up various objects and hold them against her skin to cause her body to involutary twitch and spasm.
Both of her femurs were broken somewhere along the second or third day. Her hands which were tied above her head to the headboard had turned black from lack of circulation. Both sides of her jaw were broken along with the orbital sockets of her face. One nipple had been chewed/pulled off.

And when they killed her? They filled up a styrofoam cooler with boiling water and held her upside down by her broken legs and lowered her down into it until she drowned.

And then she was raped again.

It occured in a house that was on the market for sale and the realtor discovered the body that Sunday when she came over to hold open house. Despite the large number of participants in the crime and the large crowds going in and out of the empty house, the crime still took close to 8 months to be solved. Even though nearly everyone of the perps had been arrested before their prints were on file.

I'm actually, literally, feeling nauseated from reading about the boiling water in the cooler.

It amazes me that someone could become that malignant and depraved. I couldn't do that to a bug, let alone a human.

actually, I used to think this was the first time I heard of a death like this but it wasn't. It has happened before.

The crime
In November of 1988, Jo Kamisaku (then 17; Kamisaku was a new surname he took after being released from prison) and three other young men from Tokyo abducted and held Furuta, a second-year high-school student from Saitama Prefecture in Misato, for 44 days. They kept her captive in the house owned by the parents of one of the other three boys.

To forestall a manhunt, Kamisaku coerced Furuta into calling her own parents and telling them that she had run away from home, but was with "a friend" and was not in danger. He also browbeat her into posing as one of their girlfriends when the parents were around, but when it became clear that they would not call the police, he dropped this pretext. The girl tried to escape several times, begging more than once with the parents who lived there to help her, but they did nothing, apparently out of fear that Kamisaku would hurt them. He was at the time a low-level yakuza member and had bragged that he could use his connections to kill anyone who interfered.

According to their statements at their trial, the four of them raped her, beat her, introduced foreign objects into her vagina, made her drink her own urine, inserted fireworks into her anus, and set them off, forced her to masturbate, and burned her with cigarettes and lighters. (One of the burnings was punishment for attempting to call the police.) At one point her injuries were so severe that according to one of the boys it took more than an hour for her to crawl downstairs to use the bathroom. They also related that "possibly a hundred different people" knew that she had been imprisoned there, but it is not clear if this means they visited her at different times while she was imprisoned and either raped or abused her. When the boys refused to let her leave, she begged them on several occasions to "kill (her) and get it over with."

On 4 January 1989, using one of the boy's loss at mah-jongg as a pretext, the four beat her with an iron barbell, poured lighter fluid on her legs, arms, face and stomach, and immolated her. She died later that day of shock. The four boys claimed that they were not aware of how badly injured she was, or that they believed she had been malingering.

Her corpse was hidden in an 55-gallon drum filled with cement and was disposed in a tract of reclaimed land in Koto Ward.

The boys were arrested and tried as adults; but, because of Japanese handling of crimes committed by juveniles, their identities were sealed by the court. Furuta's real name and details about her personal life were reported exhaustively in the media.

Kamisaku and his compatriots pled guilty to a reduced charge of "committing bodily injury that resulted in death", rather than murder. Kamisaku's parents sold their house for approximately 50 million yen and paid this as compensation to Furuta's family.

For his participation in the crime, Kamisaku served eight years in a juvenile prison before he was released, in August 1999. In July 2004, he was arrested for assaulting an acquaintance, Takatoshi Isono, whom he believed to be luring a girlfriend away from him, and allegedly bragged about his earlier infamy. Kamisaku was sentenced to seven years in prison for the beating.

Furuta's parents were dismayed by the sentences received by their daughter's killers, and enjoined a civil suit against the parents of the boy whose house they were staying in. When some of the convictions were overturned on the basis of problematic physical evidence (the semen and pubic hair recovered from the body did not match those of the boys who were arrested), the lawyer handling the civil suit decided there was no case to be made and refused to represent them further. (There is speculation that the evidence may have been contaminated—for example, by dozens of unidentified persons who raped Furuta.)

I just can't seem to wrap my head around stories like this...what would make groups of people participate in something so violent.

the 1st story, though just as sick and twisted I did hear of but on ef...I think p0ink posted it.
 
Now see my stomach just hurts! You know I think I would just find away to kill myself if I was put in a situation such as these. My heart just breaks for those parents.
 
I don't know if it is the crime or the magnitude of people involved in it that makes it so horrific. That someone would know that was occuring and do nothing.

And if I were having sex with someone, forceful or not.. the fact that they were not responsive would be a big clue that my ass was in trouble. I would not try to inflict pain on them just to make them move or groan.

i guess it was about 10 years ago, a woman was opening her store up it was just off i75 it was some country store in sweetwater, and a guy followed her in and when she turned around he had a machete and freaking cut her arm off, and grabbed her purse and ran
she fell into a rack of clothing and when someone found her he was long gone but in the end they caught him, she was a lucky woman because he had robbed convenient stores and decapitated the clerks
they ended up reattaching her arm, and i think she made a full recovery
 
Makes you realize what our soldiers probably go thru when they are captured by the savages in the Middle East. I'm sure their torture is far worse.

God bless them fighting to defend us so that we do not face such horrible actions at home.

We had a weird one here. Kid worked at a B&B near Sunday River ski resort. He repeatedly beat and raped the female owner and one of the female guests. He even came downstairs to act as a doorman to let guests in and out.

He took one guest hunting and beat the guy to death. Went back to grab an axe and returned to dismember the guy.

Killed the owners four dogs and dismembered the dogs.

Finally cut the two women with a chainsaw. He cut these people into so many pieces that the cops were not sure who was who. He left the body parts in the woods and of course the wolves ate part of the bodies.

While in custody, he shanked a guy in the throat with bed spring. Poor bastard is going to get royally beaten when he finally hits the general population.

It's people like that that should just be killed! It bothers me to no end that taxes pay for some freak like that to eat and have a place to rest his head at night! Get and education, and take a shower!

There are twisted evil people at all levels of society. When they somehow rise in power to a national leadership position, then we're all fucked. Double fucked when they're acquiring nuclear weapons.

Ok this is what gets me..

He takes the guy hunting... (long walk)
beats him and goes back for the ax (long walk back)
returns with the axe (long walk all the back way again)
does the deed goes back to the B&B...(fucking long walk again)

now that is just too much fucking walking for me to do to engage in some random homocidal tendencies. Common sense says bring the axe with you the first time.

From all that walking, the beat down and then the hacking... that bitch got a hell of a cardio work out.

I can't imagine being this girl's parents and worse I can't imagine being Furuta

I'm just stunned now and as disturbing as it is to say - what was done to that girl makes rape look like nothing.

I remember a case years ago in Little Havana where 3 black teenagers kidnapped a 19 year old white girl (white = obviously) and for almost a week they raped her nonstop. Even inviting their friends over to rape her as well. It was estimated that close to 30 different individuals raped this girl multiple times in the course of six days. She was raped to the point that she lost consciousness and the perps in order to get a response out of her during the rapes (apparently they didn't like fucking a beaten tortured girl because they said it was like doing a blow up doll) would heat up various objects and hold them against her skin to cause her body to involutary twitch and spasm.
Both of her femurs were broken somewhere along the second or third day. Her hands which were tied above her head to the headboard had turned black from lack of circulation. Both sides of her jaw were broken along with the orbital sockets of her face. One nipple had been chewed/pulled off.

And when they killed her? They filled up a styrofoam cooler with boiling water and held her upside down by her broken legs and lowered her down into it until she drowned.

And then she was raped again.

It occured in a house that was on the market for sale and the realtor discovered the body that Sunday when she came over to hold open house. Despite the large number of participants in the crime and the large crowds going in and out of the empty house, the crime still took close to 8 months to be solved. Even though nearly everyone of the perps had been arrested before their prints were on file.

A teenage boy carrying a severed head walked into a Japanese police station Tuesday saying he killed his mother, the latest in a series of grisly dismemberments that have horrified a nation renowned for its low crime rates.

The 17-year-old suspect led officers to his house in northern Fukushima prefecture (state) and pointed out his headless mother on her futon mattress, with a frank, "It's in here," Kyodo News reported.

He told police he beheaded his mother on the eve of her 47th birthday while she slept, and added, "It didn't matter who I killed," Kyodo reported. Police confirmed the arrest.

Japan has long prided itself on safe streets and low incidents of violent crime. But the latest killing triggered soul searching about what some worry is a disturbing new trend — particularly with its mix of youthful aggression and icy remorselessness.

"If true, it's horrifying," Chief Cabinet Secretary Yasuhisa Shiozaki said.

Last year, a jobless man allegedly cut up his mother and entombed her body parts in concrete-filled buckets left abandoned in a yard.

In January, Tokyo was put on edge when a woman confessed to dismembering her husband with a saw and dumping the parts around the capital.

Then just weeks ago, the nation was riveted by a high-profile verdict in the death of a British hostess whose body was also dismembered and stashed in a seaside cave.

While dismemberment crimes are not unique to Japan, experts say such cases are on the rise as Japan grapples with the fallout of a decade of economic malaise. Alienation and a trend toward objectifying fellow humans is also fueling the violence.

"There have been a high number of incidents involving dismembered bodies and I certainly think there is a chain reaction going on," said Susumu Oda, an expert in criminal psychology at Japan's Tezukayamagakuin University.

Tuesday's case recalls a 1997 slaying in which a 14-year-old boy beheaded an 11-year-old and left his head at a school gate with a sinister note stuffed in his mouth.

That case spurred widespread debate about tougher laws against juvenile offenders.

But dismemberments made headlines again last year, when a man in western Japan reportedly cut up his mother's body and encased the remains in concrete buckets.

The 37-year-old suspect also roasted some of the parts on an electric grill before throwing them in the garbage, apparently to delay decomposition and hide the odor.

In the January case, a woman confessed to bludgeoning her husband with a wine bottle, sawing the corpse in pieces and dumping his body parts around Tokyo.

The confession ended a murder mystery that began the previous month when a man's torso was found in a garbage bag on a Tokyo street.

The man's legs were later found at a separate location in Tokyo and his head was discovered in a suburban park weeks later. That woman told them that the husband had physically and emotionally abused her, local media reported.

Late last month, a serial rapist was sentenced to life in prison for nine attacks, but was cleared of raping and dismembering a British woman after a six-year trial that detailed one of Japan's most disturbing sex crimes.

The British victim, Lucie Blackman, worked at a hostess bar frequented by the suspected, and her body was discovered in a cave near his house — her head also encased in concrete. While the suspected was convicted on other charges, the court said there was no solid evidence linking him to the Briton's death.

While such gruesome killings have outraged the nation, some experts caution that the dismembering of victims is not always a symptom of deeper social disfunction.

"In many cases, they killed in a desperate situation and carried or hid the body by dismembering it to avoid being caught for homicide," said Yoshikazu Yuuma, expert in criminal psychology at Saitama Institute of Technology outside Tokyo.

I can't argue with you because I don't know where you live.

But I will say this, I live in an area where the real nasty crime doesn't make the papers because the local town government doesn't want to scare the weekenders, summer people and day trippers away because local revenue would take a fast nose dive.

The older locals still don't lock their houses and cars and some of the second home owners think "ou it's the country, it's safe" - little do they know people live in their house while they're back in city.

Recently 4 men abducted a young girl from a school athletic field and kept her prisoner in a house while used her as their personal sex slave. They got caught after one of the guy started bragging about it in deli less than 500 yard from the school that she was abducted from.

It doesn't happen in your neighborhood until it happens.

No matter who you are or where you live I don't think it's good idea to think "that stuff don't happen here" because if you talk to the old timers they'll tell you "that didn't happen here until.."

Better wide eyed and safe then blindsided.

In November of 1988, Jo Kamisaku (then 17; Kamisaku was a new surname he took after being released from prison) and three other young men from Tokyo abducted and held Furuta, a second-year high-school student from Saitama Prefecture in Misato, for 44 days. They kept her captive in the house owned by the parents of one of the other three boys.

To forestall a manhunt, Kamisaku coerced Furuta into calling her own parents and telling them that she had run away from home, but was with "a friend" and was not in danger. He also browbeat her into posing as one of their girlfriends when the parents were around, but when it became clear that they would not call the police, he dropped this pretext. The girl tried to escape several times, begging more than once with the parents who lived there to help her, but they did nothing, apparently out of fear that Kamisaku would hurt them. He was at the time a low-level yakuza member and had bragged that he could use his connections to kill anyone who interfered.

According to their statements at their trial, the four of them raped her, beat her, introduced foreign objects into her vagina, made her drink her own urine, inserted fireworks into her anus, and set them off, forced her to masturbate, and burned her with cigarettes and lighters. (One of the burnings was punishment for attempting to call the police.) At one point her injuries were so severe that according to one of the boys it took more than an hour for her to crawl downstairs to use the bathroom. They also related that "possibly a hundred different people" knew that she had been imprisoned there, but it is not clear if this means they visited her at different times while she was imprisoned and either raped or abused her. When the boys refused to let her leave, she begged them on several occasions to "kill (her) and get it over with."

On 4 January 1989, using one of the boy's loss at mah-jongg as a pretext, the four beat her with an iron barbell, poured lighter fluid on her legs, arms, face and stomach, and immolated her. She died later that day of shock. The four boys claimed that they were not aware of how badly injured she was, or that they believed she had been malingering.

Her corpse was hidden in an 55-gallon drum filled with cement and was disposed in a tract of reclaimed land in Koto Ward.

The boys were arrested and tried as adults; but, because of Japanese handling of crimes committed by juveniles, their identities were sealed by the court. Furuta's real name and details about her personal life were reported exhaustively in the media.

Kamisaku and his compatriots pled guilty to a reduced charge of "committing bodily injury that resulted in death", rather than murder. Kamisaku's parents sold their house for approximately 50 million yen and paid this as compensation to Furuta's family.

For his participation in the crime, Kamisaku served eight years in a juvenile prison before he was released, in August 1999. In July 2004, he was arrested for assaulting an acquaintance, Takatoshi Isono, whom he believed to be luring a girlfriend away from him, and allegedly bragged about his earlier infamy. Kamisaku was sentenced to seven years in prison for the beating.

Furuta's parents were dismayed by the sentences received by their daughter's killers, and enjoined a civil suit against the parents of the boy whose house they were staying in. When some of the convictions were overturned on the basis of problematic physical evidence (the semen and pubic hair recovered from the body did not match those of the boys who were arrested), the lawyer handling the civil suit decided there was no case to be made and refused to represent them further. (There is speculation that the evidence may have been contaminated—for example, by dozens of unidentified persons who raped Furuta.)

Wasn't there one in killeen, TX years ago that was supposed to be a retaliation for the dragging death where a group of black guys carjacked a couple on the way to church and took them to a remote area of fort hood and burned their bodies?? Sadly enough, it never is really considered a hate crime if it's black on white. Anything happens the other way around though has the NAACP marching through town. I think it is a strong racial issue. It's horrible to imagine doing anything like that to another human being though, and they should all get death.

I agree that there is less murders the further North you go (less people, less criminals, less victims). But there might be a dispaportionate amount of serial killers in the Northern states and Canada. I don't have statistics, but that's an impression I have from growing up in Seattle.
By the way I'm a big fan of Canada, and Canadians, but sickos can be found most anywhere.

All the stories in this thread are horrific and disgusting! Any person who does this type of crime should die a slow painful death. No prison sentence, no 3 hots and a cot, no way! They deserve to lose their life! How the f- can people do these things??? Boggles my mind!

Wrong. Mixed up with something else, maybe. They were on a date at a local restaurant. If you think savage killing and torture isn't "newsworthy" compared to some of the things they sensationalize, I have to wonder what you DO consider newsworthy.
 
It's disgusting that Paris Hilton's drunk driving ordeal got so much attention when 8 people were killed in one weekend in Oakland & it got way less attention...our priorities are pretty screwed.

You won't for long if the far left has their way! The liberal mindset is self destructive, because it essentially comes back around to bite them in the ass. However it seems they lack the mental capacity to realize it. They are creating more destruction with their stock of lenient policies and stances, and then when the shit hits the fan because of it, they put a spin on who and where the responsibility lies, thus perpetuating the cycle.

As far as the thread topic, I'll be as fair as I can be. If every person, no matter their color or creed, had an equal chance at a good life, would there still be a disproportionate number of minority crimes? Every race commits atrocious acts against another as well as their own kind. I think it's too damning to try and dissect human behavior because many times it is unpredictable.
However, the reality is that we live in far from a perfect world, and as long as different races are living in the same society, expecting equality, there will be increased chances of racially motivated crimes. When we realize that there is no such thing as reaching true equality in our world (and more specifically, our country), and that we'd actually be better off believing and praying to God, then perhaps we can start accepting it and doing something to clean up this mess.

This is true. I can see Gambino's point though; I grew up about 100 miles from where he's at now (or at least at the time of his last posting). The larger populated areas you have, the more minorities (mostly black, hispanic) and racial tension you have with it. Other than Wisconsin, Michigan's upper peninsula is bordered by about 75% water. The majority of minorities are asians and indians at a technological school. It's comparable to a freak accident to hear of a murder up there. Theft and arson there, while more prevalent, are still less common than murders and violent crimes in a small to medium sized city. It goes to show that generally speaking, racial unity plays a part in civil order, whether people want to acknowledge it or not. People can grow to accept and welcome any minority, as long as they don't disrupt the values, culture, social norms, etc. of that area. It goes without saying this is easier to accomplish in smaller towns and rural areas.

Look up the rape statistics of black on white and white on black rape. You would be shocked at the differences. The media doesn't want to cover it though. There is a double standard.

Also, many journalists have officially decided not to report the race of criminals in the press. Why? Because it is not relevant (that is what they say). (I tried to find the link, it is on another computer.)

Here's an interesting, but old, case I found out about the other day. The Bath School Massacre of 1927.

You'd think only Al Qaeda would be evil enough to blow-up an elementary school full of kids, but you would be wrong. A lunatic from Michigan who insisted that "taxes" had driven him to financial ruin did just that, right after murdering his wife and burning his farm (with all of the animals trapped inside) to the ground. The perpetrator may have actually been America's first suicide bomber too! It's an interesting read.
