Homolka: portrait of a serial killer

buffer1 said:
she and her deadbeat husband killed two teenagers, and her own sister a few years back,he got life and she got 12 years I think

Yeah, she should've had a much harsher sentence but she made an agreement with the prosecution to testify against Bernardo (the man she committed the crimes with).

UGH.

Apparently she wants to live in Montreal

yeah I bet someone will take her out eventually

A liberal country -- where criminals are viewed as victims themselves -- is this really that surprising??

In Texas, she'd be executed by now.

In texas she might not have made it to trial if you get my meaning. but then again the US has a gaping bleeding wound called liberalism.

no it sucks to have the douche bag government we have

Has nothing to do with the government. She made a deal with the prosecution. That deal was reprehensible obviously.

She made a deal with the prosecution and that is the only reason she will ever see the light of day. If she had stood trial with her husband she would have received 25 years with no possibility of parole and been declared a dangerous offender as well. Meaning she would have never gotten out of prison. That is no different or 'more liberal' than sentencing in the United States other than the fact we do not have capital punishment.

i don't see what the big deal is, the type of thing happens all the time in the USA. For example, a mobster named Salvator Gravano admitted to 22 murder consipracies, yet he only served 5 yrs cause he cut a deal with the prosecutor...fairly common in trials...
