Ya, US has done a good job as a whole the last couple decades to water down the racism.


The biggest issues are people freaking out about a crime that happens between two different races. The media is a piece of crap when it comes to this, the Zimmerman/Martin case is a shining example of that and it's disgusting.

i havent had one foreign friend come visit who wasnt surprised at how friendly americans are... comparatively speaking.

the foreign media also paints a picture of america being steeped in bloodthirsty chaos and violence. like all of the nation is compton or newark.

I've been to France, and they actually are douche bags, lol. I thought it was bs all the stuff people said, but I really did run into many french that were buttheads.

depends on where you are. if it was paris, then yeah for sure.

otherwise no, considering i have a house there

english comedy is redeeming, totally agree there. but in day to day interaction i find a lot of their behavior cold and repressive. i lived there for 3 months, still have great friends there, but on the whole i dont like their vibe.

a lot of people find the new york attitude nasty, but at least you can provoke a reaction. i prefer that to a non-reaction.

also found the scots to be much more accommodating during my time there.

but thats something you dont find in the states, people arent as divided. it seemed like everyone had a gripe with everyone else. bitter memories and shit run deep. in america you never really find people from one area that despise those coming from another region of the country.
