I only joined for the sole purpose of learning about this whole ordeal. Let me explain. I'm a 14 year old male, who is severely overweight. When I mean severe, I mean 230 pounds at the height of 5'8. This falls into the obesity category.
Many people will say "just eat less", do some workouts, etc. My situation is that I need an hour to get to school, an hour to come back. Coming home from school, deli foods are my only option (chips, water, sandwich, etc.) because I am allergic to fruits. One fateful day, I saw a friend of mine in 6 months and he was slim, attracting the ladies, etc.
I decided enough was enough. If I don't make the decision right now, I will simply keep procrastinating and telling myself "i'll lose weight eventually."
I have a plan in mind though. Dumbells, weights, gym balls, etc. are not an option simply because I live in a small apartment. It doesn't mean I'm poor, I'm in the middle class, just that many misfortunes have befallen us and in return these are the aftermaths. The first thing I want to do is strengthen my abdominals. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the quadriceps (muscles underneath top of leg) of mine are very well built. I'm a very quick runner, and my school has 9 floors. There's 26 stairs between each floor. I'm usually running up 1 floor, then up another 4, down 3, up 4 again, and down a couple more, then up 1, and down 1.
In the typical day, I run 364 stairs. My math may be wrong, it's almost midnight, forgive me. I am not looking for steroids, drugs, foods, etc. All I want is a well built body not for attention but to feel better about myself. I want to be able to walk outside and know that there's nothing big about me, and sitting on one subway seat won't be too much of a problem.
For the past week, I've been doing several excersize, each done 10 times. Then, after a 5 minute break or so, I do it again. I take another 5 minute break and do the third and final set.
The excersizes I do are:
-pushups
-ab crunches
-one where you lie flat, legs up, and feet move in a large circle
-one leg on knee, elbow to that knee (works out obliques)
-ab cycles
-plank on elbows and toes
I count in "one and and two and and three and and"
After 1/3, I feel very tired, out of breath, huffing, and puffing. However, by the last 3/3, I feel tired and all but I can feel abs? I don't know how to describe it, but the stomach area feels harder. However, there are no 6 pack abs. It's not hidden under fat either.
One thing to note is that I can pull only the leg muscles very easily because of my inability to eat fruits. That's no big deal though.
So can anyone comment? Tell me what I'm doing wrong/right? Etc. I want to be in decent, if not great, shape by September.
I need to do excersizes able to be done at home. For example, jogging is not an option. The amount of homework I have only leaves say 40 - 50 minutes free in my day.
