Hey EF women...need serious advice

Obviously one of the reasons I asked for the advice is to see things in a different perspective and see how I should support her. The only perspective I had was the boyfriend who gets a hysterical phone call from the woman he loves telling him she just had a horrible experience, and I have no idea whether what the doc did was proper or not, but it sounds pretty bad to me.

Obviously as the male you get super protective especially when you factor in her past and the fact that this doc obviously needs lessons in her bedside manner.

I'd go with Musclemom, Chris etc on this one.

Female doctor with the technician there also the whole time, you'll have a hard time with that one.

If the worst of the comments were being curtly told to get leg up higher so as to carry out the procedure then I can't see you having a leg to stand on.

Let her cool off for a day or two and rationally explain to her the futility of pursuing such action, perhaps explore the option of getting another doctor or w/e.

As an aside, if your GF has a condition that's going to require her to get these examinations regularly, and particularly since she's had a taste of things to come, i.e., she's got some organ or another in an unusual/awkward location vis a vis imaging her insides, she really, really desperately needs to see a therapist to deal with her feelings about the assault. She could very likely have post traumatic stress disorder (it sounds very familiar considering it triggered flashbacks).

Going to the doctor for those exams is going to turn into a yearly ordeal for her otherwise. And as much as you want to protect her, you can't save her from the demons she's still carrying around inside. I suspect part of her pain today might be compounded by emotional stress.

And that stress is just going to continue to impact her life negatively forever unless she deals with it face to face in a safe environment.
