I bought myself a small jewelers file at the local hardware store, they are real small and pocket size. I just score the sides of the amp glass all around and use a pen top to open it. Breaks clean everytime.

This is what I do to avoid cut fingers (even scored amps can fracture).

Place bit of thick cloth in hands. Grab top of amp with cloth covered thumb and forefinger. Snap! Cloth prevents injury. Inject into bum cheek.

AMP OPENERS ARE A WASTE!

I bought some and they suck.

You are better off just filling that shit all the way around and then flicking it off with your finger, it makes a sweat little POP when it comes off. If you file it good, then you barely have to touch it and it will go flying off nice and clean!

You don't have to file it "all the way around". All you have to do is score it a little to break the integrity of the neck. Its kinda like an egg, one flaw and it breaks easy.

I just snap the top off with a paper towel in my hand to avoid cuts. Ive never had a problem
