Hernia...

Ive had 2 inguinal hernias in the past. I had keyhole surgery on them. Was in a bit pain for a few days, but nothing to severe. Back in the gym after 6 weeks. As long as ya take it easy, and dont rush things when ya get back to training ya will be fine mate

I dont want to be on meds the rest of my life unless it is aas! Are they that type of meds? Like a zantac or something? I would rather et a surgery and be done with it.

Well, you really won't know what it is for sure until you see a doc. Could just be too much acid in your gut or perhaps the beginnings of an ulcer. You may not have a hiatal hernia at all. PPI meds--Proton Pump Inhibitors such as Prilosec or Prevacid--can be taken short term, not necessarily for life. Trouble with surgery on a hiatal hernia is that once you have it you cannot burp, etc. In other words, your esophagus becomes a one-way street.

I head into surgery tomorrow for a hernia. THe doc said what everyone else said above. I can't wait to get it fixed so I can get back in the gym!
