Hepatitis B Infection and Steroids

I have been a carrier of Hepatitis B all my life. Just recently, I have done a liver test after ending a 14 week cycle that consisted of Fina, Eq, and Anavar. The doctor informed me that I have been infected with Hepatitis B and that I would need to be referred to a liver specialist. She also has urged me to stay away from Steroids. My appointement with the liver specialist won't be for another 2 to 3 weeks. In the mean time, I am extremely worried as what will happen to me.

I haven't had any symptoms of illness at all. My liver enzymes are high but I feel just fine. As a matter of fact, additionally, I am upset now that I can't begin my new cycle I had in mind to start in Dec.

Has anyone of you had a similar situation? What's the outcome?

Does it mean that I will never ever be able to enjoy future cycles of gear? I am a competitive bodybuilder and was getting ready to prepare for competition this coming season.

I appreciate any information or knowledge you may share !!

Regards,
akrama

We have an HIV board here. You'd probably get more informed answers as to what you can do and not with your condition.

Ok here I go... I had hepatits B last year August 2001... I didnt know how I got it... I mean I can imagine how but nothing was proved and I never told my parents. I got cured REALLY fast. I was feeling dizzy August 11, 12 and 13 and finally on the 14 I faint and my roomate took me to the hospital...I stay at the Hospital for 6 days and I did TONS of blood test but the doctors never figured out which hepatitis I had but after 6 days I was feeling better so I decide to leave the hospital although they said that would be better for me to stay but I still said "I wanna go home" BTW I was in US and Im from Brazil... 3 days after I got a flight back to Brazil. My eyes and skin was dark yellow and I had to travel on a special seat on Continental Airlines. I flew back home and I still didnt know which type of hepatitis I had...In Brazil I did another batch of exams and showed HBV aka hepatitis B. That was mid august and begining of january 2002 I was healed 100%! The doctor was impressed cause hepatits takes at least 6 months to go away. What Im going to write now its was something irresponsible but Im still gonna keep writing...I started a cycle by the end of November even knowing that I still had hepatitis...I used to do every 10 days blood exams so I could keep track of the virus and the doctor could see that the virus was getting weaker but was still there and he also said that if after 6 months the virus doesnt go away you have to do a terapy with some injections. I did a Fina/Sus cycle from end of November till begining of March. I didnt feel nothing during that time and at the end of the cycle I did another blood exam and the doctor said everything was OK and I knew that too cause I learned how to read the blood exam by that time already. I did a blood exam 2 months ago before coming to US and the doctor said "Your liver is much better tha mine" Whatever it takes

I was feeling VERY tired all the time, I slept for 2 days in a row and I was so tired that I had a bottle beside my bed so I could piss without leaving my bed. Some people have the hepatitis virus but doesnt show the sympthons but the doctor told me that when u have a strong imune system you body fight against the virus and thats why u get sick. Most of the people dont show the sympthon but they carry the virus for many yeard and most of the people even dont know they are infected cause a regular blood test doesnt show that u have hepatitis so you only discover if u do a specific blood exam. Its much better when your body fights against the virus cause this way you can get cure. My eyes and skin was dark yellow and I had to travel on a special seat on Continental Airlines. Shinobi,

Thank you for sharing your experience with me.

I have never showed any symptoms ever. I really feel that if I keep a close watch by doing regular blood tests, I can get away with doing cycles of AAS as long as I stay away from oral and all the 17aa's types of steroids.

The doctor who did my last tests is just a general doctor and she gave me the impression that she doesn't know much about my case. She has already referred me to a liver specialist whom I will see in 4 weeks. In the mean time, I have decided to postpone my cycle until I discuss it with him.

Are you totally cured now or are you in the "carrier" status?

I am surprised as to how all the research and all advances in the medical field and still they don't have a solid method to deal with such virus.

Man.. I hope my case isn't bad and that I can resume my life style. Bodybuilding is my life. I was natural in the past for a long time but you know how it is. Once you reach your genetic potential and compete, it's hard not to go forward to the next level.

If most injectibles are not hard on the liver, don't you think I'll be able to resume future cycles?

If it were me........ I'd stay clean till this was dealt with

When I had mono I was hospitilized and I had a hepetitis ( I think B) I was the sickest I had ever been in my life but that was my experience and it was 7 years ago. Knowing how sick i was i wouldnt even chance aggrivating that virus.....

On the other hand they were giving me tylenol 3's like candy because the fever was so pianfull and I know those cant be good on the liver............
