Went to the doctor today to get a script for the acne that I have developed due to a cycle that has just ended. Being it has been awhile since the last time I have had a pyshical, I had one. The doc picked up a heart murmer that I have never had before and scheduled me for a echocardiograph. I understand the fact that A.S. does cause structural changes in the heart and that the ischemic tolerance is decreased after steroid use. It was explained to me that a mild hypertrophy of the left ventrical, with a decreased diastolic relaxation, resulting in a decreased diastolic filling is possiable after use. What I got from all this is that the valve of the left ventrical is swollen, causing the heart not to properly fill and expell blood. I was also told that this change of the left ventrical can revert after 6 to 8 weeks, or it may be permenantly changed. This news today has scared the shit out of me. I would appreciate any information or experience that anyone might have in reguards to this condition. Thanks, Danny

as you said, this is a side effect which has been documented, but let's say it is permanent, then how is one affected. Any info, anyone? What does this heart compication entail?

I dont have a lot of info on this but I know people who have had murmurs their entire life without problems. It would depend though on the severity. again due that yours is caused by an inflammation there is a good chance it will go away when the inflammation is decreased. I also have heard of people who have had murmurs as children and they have corrected themselves as the people became adults. Do the tests to be sure and hopfully yours isnt severe. good luck bro.
