HELP!... What Plamsa HDTV Should I Buy?

Been doing some research and have narrowed it down to Three TVs:

1) 42" Panasonic - $2999

2) 42" Samsung - $2999

3) 42" Hitachi - $2999

4) Other ???

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Are these HD or ED?

I would go Panasonic. About 6 months ago I left the electronics field (I was a store manager at a large electronic and appliance company) I noticed that the Panasonics had the least amount of problems over time. The Samsung is also a nice set but I would make the safe buy.

Keep in mind, plasmas do have their issues, if possible I would wait a little longer and save for a LCD TV, the prices are dropping every day.

News said plasmas are the worsed to get period! They can burn a image in your screen then you watch double vision on it....

get an LCD, don't plasmas die over time... or something like that. They are only good for so long

Gentic- I am leaning more towards the Panasonice, but it had less features than the Samsung. But the Samsung had some "buyer beware" customer reviews..so that kinda freaks me out.

I am looking for HDTV, not EDTV...although I am not quite sure what EDTV is..can someon please explain?

Anyways.. I already own a 23" Sony Wega LCD..it's nice, but I prefer the look of the plasma...the LCD will end up in the bedroom or guest room.


Anyone else have some input on plasmas for me?
