First off, I'll start off with my stats:
23 years
5'11"
195 lbs
about 12% bodyfat

Now, I was on a TKD for three months, and really wasn't that impressed (partially due to all the mistakes I made that kicked me out of ketosis). I did drop a little more than 20 pounds, and put on a little muscle, but not enough. I want to try a CKD, but will probably wait til later when I can do it right (spring break is coming and I can guarantee I won't be dieting that week). Also, I'm getting tired of the fawking carb cravings. I have no problem eating clean, so what should I do?

I don't wanna start bulking yet because my bf% isn't low enough for me, but I'm tired of this diet. My body needs a change. If it's possible to continue to cut and put on muscle, please fill me in. I've searched the archives and everybody has an opinion.

I'm the walking poster boy for the AF store as I have these supps to cut with:
Yohimburn DF
R-ALA
NYC

First of all, 20 pounds over 3 months, it's not that bad....

but I tell you something, you don't need to be in ketosis to lose weight...

when I do a keto diet, according to the ketostix, I'm never in ketosis but I still lose an average of 2 pounds a week.... as soon as you are below your maintenance level, you will lose weight...


but if after all keto diet doesn't work for you, (which obviously is not the case) you should try a 33/33/33 diet or a 40/30/30 (p/c/f)

what I do is I eat low GI carbs with protein the first three meals of the day, and the three others, I eat Protein + fat ... never mix carbs and fat, and don't eat carbs after 6pm, unless you workout at night.

That's working for me, but it won't necessary work for you, find what's work for you...

Yeah, it's not that Keto isn't working, but it is getting old. I think I just need to refocus, but shit I wanna put on some mass!!

Although, it does seem to me to be cheaper $$ than any kind of traditional cutting diet. I may just have to take some time off, and bite the bullet after spring break.
 
i hear you. im getting sick of the keto diets. this will be my last week on it too. im going to try the 33/33/33 for a bit and see how it works for me. if not, then i'll go back to what i used to do- similar to what serge posted

this is a good choice with the r-ala.. you can probably go even a bit higher with the carbs.. and maybe a little higher with the fat (by adding omega 3's :p)

Thx macro. I probably will go back to some form of moderate carbs, moderate protein, low fat diet. How much R-ALA is too much in a day? I read in a post somewhere by either you or ulter to not take more than 200mg at any one time. But can I take 200mg five or six times a day (with every meal)?

So should I eat the same amt of kcal every day, regardless of whether or not I train? What if I'm doing am cardio and then lifting later in the evening after class?
