How long does it take to recover from a heartbreak?
Personal experience required... gay, lesbian, str8, bissexual, friendship it doesn't matter, love it's universal.

Ps: Also I feel like spreading some K!

I'll weigh in on the str8 perspective:

awhile

I believe time heals all wounds my friend. There is NO guideline to how long the healing proscess takes some recover quickly and some do not I can tell you this from experience sitting around and dwelling on it will only prolong the pain,Get out and enjoy life, put some adds up online and go on some meet and greets You will feel better I promise.

BTW those of you who made silly comments I guess you have never been heart broken before?

If I got heartbroke everytime I set a bitch out to the curb, I'd never be able to get out of bed.

just sayin'

Wow? OKay???

Time heals all wounds.

I've found that after a couple of months of no communication, things seem to feel pretty straight, BUT the moment you talk to them again it tends to come back :(

Personally, I think time with friends and family is preferable.

Just jumping into a relationship with someone else could either have the rebound person end up heartbroken, or no time for reflection and realise what lessons you learned from your last relationship.

just start fucking as many other hot bitches as you can until you're all better.

I'm sure you've heard, "the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else." - or something like that.

It helps a lot when you're emotionally unavailable though.

This is what we are taught in Grad School to effectively deal with grief.
LOL

It can take any where between a few weeks and up to a year. As Tatyana said, keep no contact with that person!

If you do, it will all come back and you need to reset the clock!

Just keep busy to take your mind off things.

Well the way I dealt on heartbreak in the past was definetely through meeting new people, making new friends and fucking around, going to new places it really helps... basically doing things out of what you usually did with that person. And yeah going to the gym and starting to take care of your body and self-love is also a good idea.

depends on the situation... how long yall dated, how deep the relationship was etc... just like losing weight, it takes time brotha...

all depends on allot of different things, time in relationship, how close you were to that s/o, and how you really deeply feel about her.... did i miss something saibot?

Yeah, great point, so multilayered it is, but also the weirdest thing that gets overlooked is like the a phenomenon called external memory transference, and this is not the reason U got together was to get another harddrive, but U relied on that person for not just being understood and identity of who u are, but also like, cognitive shit too. When U break up, u actually have to readjust to learning shit that the other person already took care for ya.

The last ex like helped me so much on formatting papers and editing, after we broke up, fuck dude, well it just sucked having her 'eye'. Good thing we broke up with all my major shit done.

Point is its not just emo & identity shit, its cognitive as well.
Yeah, breaking up is not an easy transition.

House offthread, what is like your top 3 favorite 'generic' beats, artists that inspire U.

I know U got an eclectic ear... but just curious.

Wait, I think, like bout a decade ago when Roni Size and other pioneers started creating the drum'n bass scene and Detroit was where house started morphing into dnb, jungle, breakbeats, and now, and techno was bleeding more into beats and jazz fusion, verses schizophrenic 120 beats per minute skeet, sound. But yeah, what like got U first into the sound...?
