Have you ever rented a room out of a stranger's house?

I hate apartment living with a passion though. To get even a decent 1 bedroom in a prime neighborhood (very important to me) would be around 500+ with utilites included. And you have to deal with neighbors on all sides of you, shitty carpeting and paint-jobs, crap parking (extra for covered parking...always) and very minimal sq. footage of actual living space.

I agree though it could turn out to be a total nightmare not knowing the other person...or the beginning to a life-lasting beautiful lesbian friendship. Its a crap-shoot

You're right about the shit carpet/paint job, it seems like it never fails. If you don't mind living with people I'd try to rent like a 3-4 bedroom townhome. The ones around here the rent is around $1,100 a month, split 4 ways it's not bad, plus they are all new and nice. You can always use roommates.com

Never would I do that.

roommates.com is actually where I found this gal. She says it's a four bedroom house. It's in the neighborhood I grew up in and so I know the houses are very well taken care of. Another major selling point for me is the fact that three of my best friends will be within a 2 mile radius of me.
