Has anyone pinched the sciatic nerve here?

I dead lifted improperly last thursday, even though my erectors were sore from Tuesday's workout, and my back was already very tight. I felt something rip in my lower back and was so sore after (i stopped right away), I could not even bend over to touch my knees. This was the worst back strain I've ever had and I went to an RMT the next day who loosened stuff up and helped it a lot. My back is healing very well and the RMT said I have no signs of a herniated/bulging disc. I was on the path to recovery, until Sunday morning when I bent down to touch my toes, I felt a tingling sensation in my right foot. Just the area about the size of a tennis ball on top of my foot. It happens everytime I touch my toes without slightly bending my knees and it only happens on the right foot. I saw a Dr. who said just give it time and that if my back is already recovering this fast, then its probably not a herniated disc (a slight bulge if anything). When I cough or run or do anything, I don't feel this sensation (I looked it up and said ppl with herniated discs get it in both legs and it runs down the leg esp while coughing) and it seems to be isolated to whenever I bend down after fully locking my knees.Although it is more annoying than painful, it is certainly not right. I am worried I might have pinched the sciatic nerve and hope that in time it will go away. Anyone else experienced the same issue?

The sciatic nerve supplies sensation to the entire lower extremity. It is actually composed of 2 nerves in one big sheath. The diameter of the nerve is about the size of your index finger....its big. Yes you strained it. Normally symptoms resolve in about 6 weeks. In some case steroid(not anabolic) injections are helpful. I would def. not do dead lifts. Try easy stretching several times per day and eventually it will resolve

killahbee had alot of issues with this maybe shoot a PM, and hope he wont be a sarcastic prick.

i have injured hip flexor/erector areas in my lower back, maybe 3 times, and each time was "the worst day of my life" at least 2-3 months of no heavy squats or deads, took alot of time lowered all my weights down, full range of motion and stretch and flexation on leg press and even that hurt my back.

even now i have "good" and "bad" back days, i can squat and deadlift fine now but (not super heavy, but can squat 365 easily, and deadlift 455 for a couple).

if i dont warm up and stretch properly i get a slight tingle in my leg, and a twinge in my left hamstring, glute, and lower back areas.

last time i injured my back to where i couldnt breath or tie my shoes or even lay in bed without wanting to die, was maybe 2 years ago. but sometimes after intense leg days or overuse i need to rest it for a week or so

i think stiletto has a thread stickied in the training forum about ways to prevent back fuck-ups.

glute activation excersies, hip flexor stretching, and form over weight are some ways of preventing these issues, and once youv had em, they come back way easier

Thanks for the advice , guys. I talked to some guys at the gym and they have had similar things happen in the past. The soreness is not a factor for me, but I was worried about the sensation in my foot. I feared it might have been the onset of paralysis or a herniated disc. I will rest and pump myself up on Ibuprofenes.

I've been battling sciatica since 2000, it keeps coming back.
Some people it's a short, one time thing.
Not for me.

Mom hs the same problem, it had been good for quite a bit and she got it bad again when we moved here because she decided to move a big ass tv with a friend instead of waiting for me to do it.... :(
