hardgainer in need of guidance and advice

hi, i've read a lot on bodybuilding, in particular bulking, I know gaining is all about diet but my metabolism is so fast. i'm 20 years old, 5'11 150 and just cannot seem to gain. for a while i've been having two Serious Mass shakes every day, along with at least 3 substantial meals. I know that it's all about eating big to get big, but i've been taking in easily 3500+ cals every day and should be gaining weight. I workout Monday thru Friday with Legs, Chest, Back, Bi's Tri's, and Shoulders all on separate days. Could this be why i'm not gaining? working out too much and burning too many calories? I really don't know what to do, I'm completely overstuffed and full every day.
 
I was the same way. I was once 5'10" and 145lbs. What worked best for me was eating a ton like you are now and my workouts were mon, wed and fri. Mon deads and back. Wed chest n tri. fri legs. Basic compound movements will do you well. NO CARDIO.
 
Do the stronglift 5x5 buddy , I just started it !! You got way to much volume like I did , these dudes steered me in the right direction !
 
i feel so much more of a pump tho with this 5 day split. one day my chest will feel a huge pump cuz of high intensity the next day my arms, etc. i've tried the 5x5 for just a little and didn't really feel the same pump, maybe the pump is deceiving though. i think i'm burning too many calories working out 5x a week
 
I know what you mean , but the pump goes away brother .. I used to be the same way , if I didnt have a crazy pump when I left gym I didn't do enough of my 20 sets haha.. If u want mass and strength gain less volume is key is what I'm finding out through lots of research and good bros on here
 
true i get what you mean. you've seen good size gains with stronglifts compared to the other typical 5 day splits out there? maybe ill give that a try
 
I just started stronglifts , but seen so many people now with great results , what I've been doing is push/pull/legs split before I started stronglift and even with that gaining strength and mass , I'll let u know in one month how it goes bro , I'm sure shall be good :)

You are still young yet. Creatine helps-. Do not get into anything too crazy with pro hormones. Have you had your test levels checked to make sure they are in average range?
