My diet fucking sucks big time!!

By the way SSAlexSS how do you post a poll??

when you write a message click on

'submit poll' in Options.... (only if it is the FIRST MESSAGE). From what I know you can't post polls as a quote or reply...

The hardest thing for me has aways been consistency. Other than that diet for sure....I'm never hungry so eating enough food is a major chore.

i think the hardest part for me is everything outside of the gym... making sure i'm eating the preparing and right foods, at the right time... supplementing with the right stuff, at the right time... getting enough rest, at the right times... and having to keep up with the rest of daily life that just tends to wizz by you if you're not careful, such as laundry, cleaning, friend and family maintanence etc....

(working full time in a demanding, non-fitness related job doesn't help)

i would have to say diet first as in trying to eat that much food constantly and second would have to be off cycle training time

Giving up(for the most part) all those things that I used to love to eat.

Cookies, Chocolate, Greasy foods, Wings with Blue Cheese, lots-o-Beer , etc, etc..

I have not been able to be as strict with my diet as a lot of you here probably are, but I have definitly cut wayyy back...

Pretty much the same as everyone here. Gym time is always fun, always look forward to it.

What sucks is not only missing out on real flavorful food, but paying so much attention to what you eat. Calculating carbs and protein, making sure you eat the right stuff at the right time.

Given all the info in diet out there, even on this board alone, I don't know how the hell a lot of these guys keep track of it all.

My diet consists of krispy kreme donuts. I do somethign like this.

Meal 1: 1 donut, can of beer

Meal 2: 2 donuts, mcdonalds french fries

Meal 3: 2 donuts, pastry swirls

Meal 4: 1 donut, milk shake

I am getting big as hell from doing this!

It's got to be the scheduling...anyone who is into it big time spends a lot of time shopping for the right foods, preparing all your own meals, supps, continuous water intake & restroom trips, more wash (gym clothes), reading up on current info (time on this board!), dodging constant questions from wanna-be's at the gym (diet, training)...oh yeah... and we sleep too.
All this with regular life necessities.... when I think of all the free time 'other people' must have not doing these tasks..... I still wouldn't trade the benefits. :)

First would have to be the diet.
Almost as big though would be the schedule. There is never enough time in the day for everything you need to do. The shopping, cooking, plus trying to have a life outside of the gym, and training.

I would have to say putting up with people. Whenever I go to my gym its like a damn hangout. A bunch of kids that care nothing more than getting a date. And then theres the power lifters that push everyone around. I think the gym should be a place to workout and thats it. The diet isnt that bad for me - I don't miss my other food at all since it always made me sick and feel tired - the diet makes me feel full of life, of course eatting 6 meals a day is a bitch when you have school.

The force feeding of myself every 2 hours of the damn day even when I am not hungry at all. Cutting diets down bother me so much cause you eat like 6 times just very small portions and you always have one day of the week to pig out. But the bulking up by eating every two hours till I feel like I'm gonna pop that sucks.

The only other thing is the consistancy in which people actually talk slower and louder to me thinking that I am stupid

Dieting just really sucks .....period. Other things that are a pain is trying to supplement, finding gear in my area is VERY hard (right now it is impossible for some reason), cooking 3 meals before I go to work just so I can get all my meals in me at work, getting enough sleep, then doing all this over again. But it is all worth it in the end though!

I would have to say that trying to stay natural is very hard as well as having the time to get enough sleep and train.

i think the eating 6-7 meals aday is hard.even when ihave 3 meals ans 3-4 shakes.the fucked up comments about the things you do to your body.when you get hardcore into lifting, where you are living it, then you here more shit.i go up and down in weight like a motherfuker, because i do the beach scene in summer, but i also go back up and do bench contest.bt you get coments when you go up or whe you drop down.get tired of that shit........sorry to cry on here...hahahahah.........:bawling: ;) :bawling: :p

I hate buying pants and wondering "how long will these fit?" Right now my newer pants are size 36 to 38 and I plan to go back down to a size 32-34, too bad I just gave away all my nice 32 jeans to the salvation army, dumbass! :bright:

Dieting and cutting out pasta and breads, cookies.......:bawling: :bawling: :bawling: as long as I cheet once a week Im ok.........upps I meant once a day.
As for jeans, I have different sizes......for skinny seasons and baggys for bulking up:)
Darn BB is way too expencivem but I love it.

i dont think there is anything hard about it. i do it because i enjoy it. for me its all benefits with no down sides.

same for me, it was cool at the start but now i just wanna get really big to shock every muthaphucka!
also i dont give a fuck whos doing wat at my gym as long as it doesnt mess with my workout then i dont give two shits.
i agree about eating and school but i sum how manage it.

packing all the food the night before and if there is no time your stuck with tuna all day. tuna is good but when you eat so much that it starts reaking out your pours.....time to change......

Training until it hurts...

This is the best part!

... After you have been building a couple years, the rest of the options almost become second nature to you. I can understand how diet is hard for some people - but personally I can't go without food for 3+ hours without getting serious hunger pains.

* All the foods you must avoid

* Getting injured when you want/need to train

feeling skinny, feeling fat, feeling bloated, daily back and delt pains, worrying about your diet, worrying about missing a meal, worrying about not having time to workout, wondering if you should endulge, and the 1,0000000000000 different opinions that everyone has on everything.........lol

The macho attitudes of some of the guys involved, like you've got to have a penis to build muscle or something.

The mind games that you go through the last few weeks before a show really take a toll too. Especially if you go from 198 lbs, feeling pretty fokken powerhouse to 170 lbs feeling like Stephon Erkel.

The hardest part for me has always been the eating. Getting in enough protein and good calories at the right times is essential, but then it seems like you're always eating.

Then to really mess things up, my body reacts differently to food now than it did when I was in my 20's and 30's.

THATs a piece of cake....try eating 6 times per day when you meetings with clients all day and they wonder why you keep excusing yourself from the conference to go to the bathroom and slam chicken and green beans......SUCKS!

PERFECT!!!!!!! If you only knew how many times I've done that!!!!!!!!!!!! Karma!

Having those days where everything feels heavy. Every set, every rep that usually goes up easy, just aint happening...happened to me today =)

What a surprise! I never thought so many body builders would find eating all the time difficult. I have been seriously body-building for a few years now, and I LOVE the fact that I CAN eat a lot without getting fat! :)

none of the above options,,

The hardest part about bodybuilding is the day in day out commitment year after year

Diet is rather difficult.
However, the hardest part about bodybuilding is all of the idiots that get in the way. I am all for everyone and anyone training, but if you dont know what the hell you are doing ask questions or read. It pisses me off when assholes hoard a bench or squat rack curling the bar or talking to all of their buddies.
corey

It's not that "they" don't know what the hell they are doing, it's that they have no gym etique and live by "I'm the only one on this planet"........Personally, I can deal with it, however I can't deal with the dude who have the impression that they have suitcases under their armpits and think they are f-ing gigantic benching 250lbs and weighing in at 300.....

jkurz1,
I would have to agree with the suitcase phenomenon. I have a guy in my gym that i know who carries around a gallon of water with his arms and lats always flaired. It is quite hilarious. Everyone makes fun of him, including me.

Unfortunately my arms stick out some, but thankfully i dont weigh 300lbs and bench 250lbs. I weigh 250lbs and bench 405 (5 reps).

Oh please how hard is it to ignore people....how can you tell me it's easier to make your diet on point than to ignore boneheads in the gym?

The DIET is by FAR the hardest part for me....Training is simple you just go in to the gym and lift weight. But diet KILLS me.....Mostly on the weekends b/c my will power is so small.

I train at a university and i dont know if i can actually count all of the idiots in the gym. I know i can count the guys who are dedicated and know what they are doing. However, it is all the idiots, especially the beach boys (those who only work their beach muscles) who hoard the equipment from others. However, i do have one advantage though. I am one of the biggest guys in the gym and most everyone lets me use any equipment in a relatively timely fashion if i ask to use the equipment. I dont utilize this to my advantage, but it is convienient.

i hate the diet i am not weak of mind but fuck i can't stand the twisted stromach i get 4 weeks out and in

I can't stand the comments I get at work concerning my diet. I usually drink 3 whey shakes per 12 hour work day, and eat every three hours or so, stuff like tuna and boiled eggs (I'm a nurse, I don't have much time to sit down and eat stuff.)

And my coworkers are like (nasal voice) "Why? Whyyyyyyyyyyyy do you drink those diet shakes, but you eat so much? You're never going to lose weight!!!" I've explained to them that I'm not trying to lose weight, and those aren't "diet" shakes, but they are morons.

Sticking to a mundane diet and watching all your friends eat icecream and apple pies.
I think another thing is the attitude of co-workers who aren't so fit... at work all the guys say 'hey muscles' or 'big man'... not in a derogatory way, but because I choose to look different. But then again, why should I care if I am working towards a better me and they don't care what they look like?

Diet, i dont seem to have the time to eat all the food i need, hence my muscles aren't growing very fast.

seeing all the unserious bodybuilders who are obviously on steroids and shortcut their way to getting big and walk around with a big ego. It really makes me negitive looking at my skinny natural self

There's no option for "all the gay sex, fake tanning, and rubbing each other down w/ baby oil." That's definitely the hardest part of BB'ing.

What about providing "muscle worship" for gay admirers and then blowing middle-aged businessmen to pay for obscene amounts of gear?

Nah, that's pretty easy actually. It's a good side business.

What is really hard though is managing your micronutrients in excruciating detail.

lol, one of the options is "taking so much steroids your a$$ will explode" and the 'ss' in ass is spelled '$$'.....lol, just got a kick out of that. The sucky thing is it only got 13 votes, mine included.

I just remembered, the other hardest thing about BB'ing (aside from baby oil, vitamin C management, gay sex side jobs, and pumping your a$$ full of juice [ed. a$$ is slang for ass]) is having to always explain the benefits of sitting down on machines to do your workouts. It's actually harder having to use those padded machines b/c sometimes the seams on the cushions cut into you pretty deep. Plus, they don't let you cheat. I saw this guy at the gym the other day cheating on BTN presses. He didn't even use his shoulders at all. LoL

but don't go below 1g per hour else your prostate will fall out when you're 75 and it's a real pain stuffing it back in every few hours.

and those Oly lifters jumping around and calling it a lift. All they need is some decent gear in their a$$.

yeah dude, they don't practice any TUT, and they cheat and use jerky movements.

BUMPING for t3h more opinions on this very helpful poll.

*edit* lol, you got bombed.

Another hard thing is always having to check yourself out in the mirror to make sure your rear delts aren’t growing assymetrically. You’ve gotta’ watch out for that. I know a guy who worked all the way up to 30s on the rear laterals but one side got too big.

Yeah, I got bombed. I think he forgot that I'd return the favour.

I think this poll lacks teh winning option of 'people will ask you to vote in stupid polls'.

What a dumba$$, doesn't he know that he should work them unilaterally while sitting backwards on a pec deck??? Geeze, throw in some Winny (Depot, but don't inject just drink it) and he'd have t3h jakked rear deltzz.

LoL

This thread is almost as good as the Life Force thread. It's definitely "Exhibit A" for Madcow's observation that this board sucked pretty bad in the early 2000's.
