My first father's day. My boy is two weeks old tomorrow.

Unfortunately, my dad is in the hospital right now. He got my card. He's not doing too well.

Happy Fathers day to all EF fathers.

This will be the first in 2 years where i am not a father since my ex and I split. It was her daughter and she called me daddy. I miss that. Was still kinda hoping for a card or a phone call. We'll see I guess.

If you felt like her dad in your heart and she made you feel like it and called you dad. That can be hard. Kids can tug on the heart strings even if they are nto yours by blood. You want to be there for them and care for them. You form a bond and it ends. I hope she sees this.

I got a call from a friend of mine and because I lost my father he tried to give me the whole,"I know this day is hard for you." One day isn't any different from another. My father affected my day to day life and thinking one arbitrary day "is harder" for me is ridiculous. He's dead and I try to live up to what he taught me about being a man everyday of my life.

I've posted up some props for him. WWII vet, corpsman that served on Tarawa and Iwo Jima....stand up guy; I'll never know his story.I pulled together what I could from the official records. Two purple hearts, I only figured that one out when I changed the plates on mom's car because they expired, my mother applied for the plates in his last days.


He enlisted right after Pearl Harbor....
