Growth Plate Closing and Sustanon?

Hey, I have a dumbass friend who just turned 18 and he thinks he wants to do a short cycle of sustanon.. i guess around 4-6 weeks of it. i told him that i read that steroids close your growth plates.. would that cycle do it? or how much would be required to do that. I at least need to give him someone who knows answer, cuz he won't listen to me.

A shot would be enough to stop his growth. I wouldnt do it, unless he's at least 5'10

Try your best to encourage him Not to do it. Its bad enough that he wants to do it at 18, but tell him to atleast do some research on the drugs he puts into his body before he decides to do them. I'm not saying he knows nothing about it, but if he plans to do Sus. for 4 weeks I would assume he don't know what he is doing.

BS, maybe cause you were taking fake gear that didnt do shit, or ...were you actually measuring yourself? I dont remember last time anyone told me that they ever measured their height.

I really, really doubt that one shot of sustanon would be enough to completely shut down his growth plates. Post a study, because I think you're wrong.

the sus wasn't fake, it was mexican vet so obvisouly wasn't very strong, i only did 1cc (250mg) each week along with 1cc (200mg) eq along with it.
i would probably tell your friend not though. i still regret i used gear when i did.

Havent found anything that says steroids directely are responsible. So maybe you're right, maybe juice doesnt, but est does.

There is a study posted at Anabolicfitness that shows the same thing about estrogen. boys were given testosterone injections - but some were given letrozole to supress estrogen. The boys given letrozole had 5 times (500%) higher testosterone levels than the boys not given letro. The boys given letro along with testo grew about 2 inches taller over the course of the study than either the untreated control group or the group given testo alone.

Ok, so if it's estrogen that stops the growth, then wouldn't it make sense
that one could do a cycle with a compound that doesn't aromatize and
not have to worry about stunting their growth?

BTW, I'm not asking for myself. I'm 29 yrs old, so obviously I'm not gonna' get any taller. Just curious as to what you guys thought about this.

Estrogen fuses growth plates

I have heard that estrogen fuses growth plates. I dont know the mechanism or if simply taking an aromatase inhibitor will prevent growth plates from fusing though.

ApexX, funny you should mention that because Anavar is often used in treatment of short stature, for example oxandrin and growth hormone are used for girls with Turner Syndrome - to help them grow taller.

UA iron - I may be wrong but estrogen does not directly stop the growth, it induces senescence - sort of a sleep like state- in chondrocytes (the bits of a special type of cartilage that grow into bone, when the chondrocytes "go to sleep" bone growth is over). Its kind of like estrogen starts taking to the growing bone: "hi bone, did I tell youa bout my newest maybelline eye shadow, its great...and the other day I saw katie at the mall and I said "hi Katie.." but really I wanted to say Katie you big fat slut...oh I am on this new diet and yesterday I ate a cup of rice, 4 raisins, and a small piece of tuna...do you ever watch Oprah?....." - and this puts the chondrocytes to sleep and the bone stops growing.

I looked into this EXTENSIVELY awhile ago.

Basically it's not an all-or-nothing thing. The magnitude of height loss is related to magnitude of use, with estrogen being the chief culprit. So an attitude of "oh well I'm already stunted, might as well continue" would obviously be bad.

I'm not sure about non-aromatizing compounds.

yeah i would say MOST of my friends started gear at 18 yrs or so.....none of them grew any taller. i was 6'1 at 18, i didnt mess with gear till 31, but after 18 i still grew almost 3 more inches....im 6'3 and a half...plus he could have a proness for male pattern baldnes. his hair may be thick as hell now, but if he does have the gene he very wel can end up going bald at a much younger age then he would have normally.
when your 18 your on top of the world and bulletproof, but it DOES catch up with ya!

Im not saying to do it,but I did go on my first cycle at 17,20 now, and have grown 2 inches from my first cycle until last year, I even had to use anti e's first cycle as I had gyno symptoms, but I probably just got lucky and Im sure its very possible for even one cycle to close em up

Could you tell us your cycles up to the point of which you stopped growing?

cycle two enanthate 400mg 8 weeks

then I took a two year break and stopped growing last yr at 19

I still want to discourage teens as much as possible from doing AS. I have attached a study in which immature rats were treated with oxandrolone - as they developed their testes and other glands were underdeveloped...i.e they had small balls. It did not stunt their skeletal growth but it stunted their nut and prostate growth - the prostate is what really makes you ejaculate. If that does not discourage some youth I don't know what will.

Oxandrolone is a 5 alpha-reduced anabolic steroid that is administered for the treatment of short stature disease in children. It is a commonly used substance beginning as early as prepuberty by some individuals who are seeking to enhance athletic performance or personal appearance. Because of the lack of data on the effects of anabolic steroids on the reproductive system, we have examined the effects of oxandrolone treatment on reproductive development in male rats with treatment beginning two days after weaning. Male, Sprague-Dawley rats (N = 12) received a daily subcutaneous injection of oxandrolone (32.7 mumol.kg-1.day-1) and the control group (N = 12) received vehicle only (dimethyl sulfoxide). Treatment began at age 23 days and continued to 60 days of age. The weights of the testes, prostate glands, and seminal vesicles in the treatment group were 69%, 50% and 29% below control levels, respectively and were all significantly decreased (p less than 0.01). Testicular testosterone production in a 3-h incubation was inhibited in the treated animals to 1.3% of control values (p less than 0.001). Serum FSH (11.7% of control) and LH (undetectable) in the treated animals were both significantly less than controls. Histological findings indicated an arrest of advanced spermatids and a severe depletion of Leydig cells in the interstitial compartment. It was concluded that treatment of immature male rats with oxandrolone results in effects on the adult male reproductive system which are profound and occur at several levels. The most likely affected sites are the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, and the Leydig cells.

When it comes to kids juicing, there are definitely more things to concider than just growth platelets. You're right, this should scare the hell out of
whatever dumbass kid is thinking about it.
